"Nice Hotel and friendly staff. Experience is definitely weather dependant so check it out before leaving. Not much to do around in winter (3 hours of 'day' light). Recommended, but make sure you check availability of activities beforehand (reservations should be made well in advance). One (big) hour drive drive from Tromso, so make sure you hire a good car and are comfortable driving on icy roads in winter. If you do all the planning in advance and check weather reports, it should be a nice spot...

"Ended up arriving later than expected to find no staff at the desk (beyond the 3:30 cut-off). Front doors locked and no answer on the phone to call. Turns out there were instructions (thru expedia) for the need to call if you were to be late. Once they called back (and someone let me in to the lobby) i was able to get a key to a room. "Friendly and helpful staff all the time. Comfortable and quiet room. Two things to say: 1. The cook should keep an eye on the breakfast provision more regularly - some things ran out and were not replaced 2. TV service should be upgraded to offer more international channels and information about the hotel and Andenes"
