"The villa is set in beautiful surroundings. Peace and quiet was what we were looking for and it didn’t disappoint. The villa was very clean and well presented. It was really nice to see a good selection of crockery and wine/beer glasses we could use. We did buy a couple of items that were useful during our 3-week stay. The AC in the bedrooms were quiet and the beds, whilst firm, were comfortable, and bed linen was super-clean and ironed. The pool area and gardens were well laid out and the bar and BBQ area was perfect for al fresco dining. La Joya which is a few minutes away by car has a handy mini market open on some days for a few hours, but the main shopping is in Antequera which has numerous supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The drive takes about 25 minutes. We recommend Mesón Adarve to eat - excellent food! Overall, for us it was about the peacefulness of the place. We watched the sun rise in the morning sitting on the front porch (on a very comfortable outdoor sofa), overlooking the valley and listening to the distant ringing of the bells on the goats being brought down the mountainside each morning. Sometimes it was so quiet during the day, all we could hear was the buzzing of the bees, the birds and the breeze rustling through the trees. A wonderfully relaxing holiday. "

"We loved the villa, the pool, the area and the hosts. The villa is full of character and very well furnished, not the usual ‘cast-offs’ we usually get in properties in this area and price range. The pool was a great size and depth and bug free thanks to the ever active pool bot. Great seating areas inside and outside of the sun and air conditioning in the main lounge area too. Kitchen was well equipped and our hosts said we could help ourselves to the vegetables in the garden. Jose and his family were very kind, helpful and yet discrete. We will be back - if only to idle away another week relaxing in the hammock, watching the eagles fly above our heads and the sun set over the mountains. And one last note - very few wasps!!! "

"The house surpassed expectations - it was even better than the photos. The location was perfect for us - totally private with no near neighbours, and a beautiful view. The house was very clean , comfortable, and equipped with everything you would find in your own home. After being out and about during the day, evenings were spent relaxing on the terrace with a glass of wine, watching the sun go down. It was totally idyllic in every way. Caminito del Rey is a must - the whole area around El Chorro is very beautiful. All in all, we had a brilliant holiday - a great mix of 'doing' and 'chilling'! Thanks to Jose and his wife for easy check-in/out. Highly recommend!"
