The space
We are excited for you to experience what it is like to live in a unique A-Frame home. Nestled in the woods, you will not be disappointed by this one-bedroom home. This home is typically rented as a three-bedroom home but during your stay, a bedroom will be locked up on your level and no one will have access to this space. The downstairs will also be locked up, where there is an additional living room and another bedroom/bathroom. No one will have access to this space as well. This home highlights a beautiful outdoor balcony big enough for a two-person hot tub, bbq, gas fireplace, and dining table. Great for viewing the stars at night or enjoying a beautiful day. You won't want to miss the beauty of the trees and the sound of the wind through the trees. In winter you can watch the snow falling outside while being cozy next to the gas fireplace.
With one bedroom upstairs in the loft bedroom (queen) and bedding for someone to sleep on the couch downstairs (not a pull-out couch). The loft bedroom has a beautiful view of the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the tall pine trees. You will love the sight of the beautiful light streaming through the trees in the morning. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo, blow dryer, plenty of towels, a pedestal sink, and storage. There is a large living area and dining table for you to enjoy during your stay. The fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to cook cozy meals and the local coffee will help you feel right at home. The space has been designed to make you feel like you are in a mountain lodge while also highlighting the stunning architectural features of the home.
The home is only twenty minutes from Mount Lassen National Park and forty minutes from Burney Falls. There is plenty of hiking, sites, and lakes to view nearby. Shingletown is a quiet town with a small food market, pizza store, and thrift/antique stores. You are also close to Redding (a 30-minute drive) where you have access to a larger city with more options for food, shopping, Sacramento river, and Turtle Bay.
This house is located in an area with limited cell and WiFi service. We do offer WiFi, but it is a slow download speed and upload speed so it is not recommended for guests to use the WiFi for anything but browsing activities to do during their stay.

Other things to note
Guest Interactions:
You will get into the house with a code for the lock box located on the railing outside the front door. We are always available for questions, and concerns, help with finding local recommendations, and any emergencies. We have a local contact who can come in extreme emergencies but we would like you to reserve this for issues that can’t be resolved without a person coming to the property. It is our hope that you enjoy your stay and have a memorable experience staying in our home.
Services:
Phone: There is limited cellphone service in the area depending on your carrier. If you need to make a call you will drive back to Shingletown.
Internet: We do have internet service at the house. The download speed is a maximum of 25mbps and the upload speed is a maximum of 3 mpbs. This should facilitate internet texts from the house, but not recommended for streaming videos, video calls, zoom calls, or working from home.
Pets: are allowed but we ask that they not lounge on furniture in the living room without a towel or blanket on the couch or chair. Also, there are regular sitings of bears on our property so it is recommended to keep animals on a leash, especially at night, to ensure you can move away from a bear and back into the house very quickly if one was to come on the property.
Fires: We have an outdoor fire pit and provide firewood. We allow open fires but ask that you use the hose to put the fire all the way out. Thoroughly douse the fire with large amounts of water and ensure it is no longer smoldering. In the summer months, fires may not be allowed due to the high wildfire risk. We will let you know if it is not allowed. We do also offer a gas fireplace for outdoor use when there is a heavy fire risk or if you don't feel like making a live wood fire. This also provides some ambient lighting and a little heat while enjoying the outdoors.
BBQ: We have a large BBQ for your use and we hope you can make some delicious meals during your stay. We ask that you turn off the grill and then turn the propane gas tank all the way off. Once the grill is cooled, then cover it back up with the outdoor cover.
