"My stay at Sambora Kinigi in July was truly unforgettable. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and I immediately felt at home. I loved the small, boutique feel — especially the communal dining table, where I made friends from all over the world over delicious meals. There was even a sweet dog who had just had puppies — one of the puppies slept in my room, and it was clear the animals were well cared for, adding to the family atmosphere. When there was a minor issue with my room, the staff quickly upgraded me to a beautiful suite at no extra cost. They organized my gorilla trekking excursion and other activities, making everything seamless and stress-free. I can’t recommend Sambora Kinigi enough — it was one of the most special travel experiences I've ever had!"

"The house is a 15-20’ walk from the center. Difficult to communicate with the lady (no French, little English) but her husband speaks fluent French. Excellent breakfast, clean and spacious room."

"We had an amazing stay at Ruhondo. The staff were all so welcoming and kind, particular mention to Jana 😊. The rooms are basic but clean and the beds are very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. We had a lovely walk/hike along the lakeside and up into the village together with a gaggle of local children - more and more joined us as we walked 😊. The location is very peaceful and I would thoroughly recommend "

"Lovely and large room with king bed and a fire place. Ensuite was also large. They also put hot water bottles in our bed at turn down - such a lovely gesture. Staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. Food good and fresh too. We also saw a Golden Monkey there too. Nb. Worth noting that the laundry service doesn’t include ironing/pressing."

"Very friendly and helpful staff with a restaurant on-site and the historic hotel/hangout across the street. A bit far from the national park. No fan, AC or mosquito net in room. Luckily, I didn't need the latter. A bit worn around the edges, but relatively comfortable. "
