Great little cottage in fantastic location
Beautiful little cottage in a great fantastic location. Did feel it needed some new baking trays as they were all peeling off and couldn’t use them . Also there was no iron and ironing board and hairdryer. Also was quite a damp smell even though we left the bathroom door open most of the time.

We will not be returning.
Hi Our stay at Cockleshell Cottage WAS NOT ENJOYABLE and we will not be returning. The issues were: 1 On arriving, the cottage had not been cleaned and dirty bedding was in the shower. This was rectified after our complaint. We had access at 5.30. 2 The cottage was frizzing cold as no heating was on. After turning it on, the cottage warmed up by the next day. 3 There are light bulbs missing and the electric fire in the front room does not work. 4 On the Saturday we found that the shower door was stuck. we could not open it so it could not be used. The toilet seat is also louse, so when it was used it moved. We left a day early than booked, first thing Sunday morning pleased to be going home

Lovely cottage
Nice little terraced home in a great location. All the comforts you need, including towels and soap(!) Great space on the front for sitting and watching the shanty singers in front of the odd fellows hall. We chose a good week as it was the carnival week. Perfect base for exploring Sheringham.

Quaint cottage in good location
We had a lovely time in this cottage - it's a great location with a glimpse of the sea when you sit in the front yard. A blue flag beach is within a minute's walk and a variety of cafes, pubs, take-aways and shops close by. But not a noisy location despite proximity to a pub. The cottage has excellent facilities - a good sized kitchen, big comfortable double bedroom (with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space) and a useful, cosy dining room "Snug". We very much appreciated the wine and chocs, tea, coffee and milk. We enjoyed getting to know Alexa as we hadn't met her before! Just a few minor issues that would make future stays even more enjoyable: * Smells - of damp when we first arrived that faded as we left windows open when we were in - but there was also a strange smell in the kitchen area that didn't go away and we were unable to open the kitchen window. * The back yard was unswept and quite grubby - with a bit of rubbish in there - maybe thrown over the wall? The outdoor chairs were dusty and cobwebby. * The back yard would greatly benefit from a washing line (we had beach towels etc to dry) but instead we had to clean the outdoor chairs first, so we could drape our wet things over them. * The bathroom is quite cramped with a very small hand basin and a larger people may struggle to use the small shower cubicle

Our stay at Cockleshell
What can we say! The cottage is one of the best we have stayed in in Sheringham (family's second home) . It is cosy. Well catered for with everything anyone could want or need. Walking through the front door one feels immediately at home. For the time of the year the weather wasn't too bad, but warm and cosy inside we didn't really notice the bad few times. We have stayed at Cockleshell before and both times were lovely experiences. Thank you.

Lovely Cottage - We had a Great Stay - Everything on the Doorstep - We Parked for the week and never moved the car! - We Love Sheringham ❤️ - The Cottage was a Real Home From Home, we even extended our stay by 2 days! Luckily, as it was available! We will be returning to Sheringham next year and can’t wait !

Great location, lovely neat little cottage
You couldn’t get a better location, short stroll to the promenade or the town. Pubs and cafes a short distance away whichever direction you take. Cottage had everything we needed and was clean and well equipped. Stairs are very steep, (but there is not many of them) so someone with mobility issues would struggle. We did expect some noise when the pub opposite closed but we never heard a thing. At 5”1’ I didn’t struggle with the low ceilings but my 6”6’ hubby came home with a few bruises!!

Lovely cottage
Beautiful little cottage in an ideal location so close to the sea and town. Is next to a pub which can be a bit noisy with events but no problems - and we enjoyed listening to the live music. There was a leak in the dining room, which made the room unusable for one day after heavy rain but key cottages where lovely and said the owner was replacing the roof the next week so not a big issue! Stairs are typical of that style of building- definitely not for those who are physically disabled in anyway. My husband and I are both quite tall so care should be taken when climbing the stairs! The shower was also tiny! Again not an issue for us as we are both slim but if you are of a larger build I think you would struggle! We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely return! Having the stay managed by key cottages made everything very smooth!

Don’t go if your a normal sized person !
The house was clean and tidy …. Good position for the beach . But the Very Loud music ( live acts) from the pub which is directly opposite is dreadful . And the shower is so small ,it was perfect for my 5 year old granddaughter but for adults it’s dreadful . And if you don’t manage to get parked in the car park behind . Then it’s a long walk from we’re ever you manage to park your car far away . I was told the car park at the railway station was a 5 minute walk …. it’s not !

A great stay under strange circumstances
We had a great stay at cockleshell cottage. Everything was clean and comfortable. The position of the cottage couldn't be better with the beach just round the corner and the shops and transport links a few minutes walk away. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Cockleshell Cottage May 2021
I spent a fabulous week in this delightful cottage which oozed quirkiness A welcome gift of wine and chocolates had been left which was a nice touch. The entire cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. All rooms had efficient heating for cooler days. The kitchen was very well equipped for a full self catering experience , although there are some excellent eateries nearby and within a 2 minute walk away .The bathroom was downstairs (as with most terraced cottages) and it was equipped with a powerful shower. The cottage is in close proximity to the seafront and there is parking close by at Chequers Car Park at rear of cottage. The cottage has two lovely outdoor seating areas at both the front and rear of the property and a lovely little garden room that doubles up as a dining area. The perfect place to stay and the only things that are worth bearing in mind are that the stairs in this property are incredibly steep and would not be suitable for those with walking / mobility difficulties and there are two pubs very near to the property so it did get a bit noisy some evenings. The cottage is on a road that is used to circumnavigate the end of the promenade area in order to rejoin the main road through the town but there is an area suitable to stop and quickly drop off any luggage outside the front of the cottage before parking up. I would most definitely recommend Cockleshell cottage and would stay here again.
