Family get together
We enjoyed our stay at Clarendon. Everything we needed was to hand in the house and it’s location close to the centre of Sheringham was ideal.

Pleasant and well stocked
The house is lovely and in just the right position in town to be close enough for everything and yet still far enough off the Main Street to be quiet. The only downside of the top room having such a big window is that it can’t be opened so that got quite hot and the only way to keep it at a reasonable temperature was to keep the bathroom window open and all the doors to try and get a bit of a breeze in. Would quite happily rebook on a return to Sheringham.

poor visit to Sheringham
Our local friends swept own the front door and path prior to our arrival the houae had not been cleaned for some time - dust and cobwebs some bedrooms had no wardrobe or mirrors one bed in twin room had a hollow in the mattress a three storey house with no fire regs is illegal - ENGLISH Building Regulations After returning home we looked up reviews on expedia etc - it says it all the owners should buck their standards and make the house worth the money

Comfortable spacious house
We loved the house and (almost) everything in it, and the location - very quiet, but close to main street and beach. A few things could be addressed to make it even better: 1) the bedroom on the second floor was almost un-usable during the very hot spell of weather we had (30 degrees outside), due to both windows being un-openable, and the lack of proper blinds to keep out the sun. Those things could easily be remedied. 2) The wooden clothes-horse in the utility-room stained some damp clothes placed on it. 2) A large plastic tablecloth would be useful, to cover the wooden dining-room table when young children are staying. 4) The plantings in the yard outside were a little overgrown, and rather impeded our use of the space (which is quite small anyway) - some trimming back before guests arrive would be helpful.

Great location in a lovely seaside town
We booked Clarendon for a week by the sea with our children and grandchildren. It’s location just of the main shopping area with shops, bars, etc. proved perfect for our needs. It’s also a very short walk down to the promenade and the sea. The house itself was perfect for our needs, with most of the bedrooms and spacious, well appointed bathroom on the first floor plus further bedroom and shower room up on the second floor. We had a minor issue with heating (our misunderstanding not significant) so had reason to call the hosts, who were charming and took the time to call back the next day to ensure our issue was resolved, so would unreservedly recommend them as hosts for a future stay. Being a large group we arrive in 3 separate cars, but we’re still able to park in the local streets, so my concerns that we may have to leave our vehicles in the nearby car park were unfounded. That said if it had proved necessary the cap park is a very short walk away. We would definitely consider returning the next time we want this kind of break. Highly recommended.

Great Christmas House
Perfect house and perfect location - we stayed here Christmas 2022 and it was amazing, upon arrival we found a hamper packed with goodies, the house is lovely, its very spacious and very well decorated, yes the house is old and lived in but we loved it especially with young children , the area of Sheringham is a little Gem, once we parked up and settled in we didnt use the car until we left. supermarkets about 5 min walk away, plenty of local shops and restaurants, the beach is a 5 minute walk away and is lovely.

Comfortable large house with character
Welcoming large family holiday home with everything you could possibly need. Very comfortable beds with fresh linen and towels. Prime position with easy walking distance to all of sheringham’s lovely amenities. Was lucky and got parking near. Benefits from little enclosed patio garden.

Family Holiday
A good property in all respects save that it needed a better clean (dusty and shower drains had to be cleaned out by us before they could be used). This was reported to the agent, Keys who acted upon it. Otherwise a very good property with an excellent modern kitchen and utility room. Windows had been nailed shut, this was of particular concern in the loft room- a. Because it got impossibly hot there. b. Because it posed a safety issue as it blocked a means of escape in the case of fire. Not sure if this is a health and safety issue in a rented property, should be checked. Regardless of the above we all had a great holiday and would consider returning.

Great location but house needs some work
The house is in a fantastic location and we were fortunate enough to be there during a heatwave. The only downside to this is that the bedroom windows on the top floor did not open at all and it got VERY hot in there. Potentially not a problem for the majority of the year, but not great in the summer! The rest of the house is well equipped, but slightly run down in places (the dining room table has a huge bow in it). However, I wouldn’t let this put you off as overall it all worked fine.

Enjoyable stay
Our family of ten arrived from Canada for a stay. We enjoyed staying at the Clarendon. The house was as advertised and accommodated us all. It was well equipped and provided everything we needed. We found the small fridge a bit difficult with ten people, even with a separate small freezer, but we managed. It was beautiful weather in Sheringham and upstairs was very warm, we wondered why we couldn’t open the windows in the top bedroom, they were painted shut, was this a safety thing, if so it would have been nice to have a fan up there. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely week!
Roomy house for group of 5 friends in great location with loads of crockery and pans. Beds all very comfy and all the rooms spacious. We would come again and recommend. Parking at the railway car park was easy quick walk away. Cleaning mostly good throughout the house but we feel the floors could all do with good scrub.

Summer 2021
We stayed at the Clarendon as 2 families in July 2021, which included 4 adults and 4 children. The location could not have been better, situated 5 minutes from the beach and in particular the sea, was ideal for the children. With the shops, pubs and restaurants being even closer, there really was something to suit everybody. Sheringham is a beautiful, traditional seaside town which is an ideal base for those also wanting to explore Norfolk. The accommodation is a spacious townhouse with the perfect mix of tradition and modern amenities. As a family with 3 children everything that is needed was supplied (eg washing machine, tumble drier) You name it they had it!! On arrival the home was spotlessly clean with plenty of fresh linen available. Overall we had a fantastic weeks holiday and would recommend this accommodation to both older and younger visitors. We look forward to returning next year.

Great location
The property itself is great with plenty of room for two families. The location of the property is great for walking in to the town centre, literally takes 2 minutes and the beach front is 5 minutes. Everything you could need was provided in the house. The only negatives for the house was the cleaning, it was not horrendous by any means however certain aspects let it down. The top floor shower was clogged up with hair so the water did not drain away, I used the ground floor shower after as the shower tray would quickly fill up as the water was not draining away. It does not seem under or behind the sofas have been cleaned it quite some time. Often the kids toys would fall behind the back and you was left with a black filthy hand from retrieving any items. If you walked around the house in white socks they would be black within a few minutes. I appreciate it's a beach house but It's not like they don't have enough time with a 10am check-out and 4pm check-in to clean the house properly. We managed to get parking outside the house 50% of the time and if not there was parking within a few minutes walk. The beach in Sheringham unfortunately was not working for us as the high tide was not in our favour with timing, when the tide is high it's a pebble shore and difficult for the kids to run around. We however took a drive down to East Runton and Wells/Holkam where the tide was not an issue and the kids could play in the sand and splash around in the water. One last point; anyone with toddlers probably best avoid the bottom bunk bed. Our 3 year old some how managed to get his head stuck between the mattress and the ladder while he was moving in his sleep. We was woke up in the middle of the night with him shouting for help as he could not get his head out. That was probably more out fault for letting him choose which bed he wanted to sleep in. On the whole, great house in great location for Sheringham town centre and beach, plenty of room but needs better cleaning.

Lovely house!
We had a great week staying in Clarendon. The house is a beautiful mix of traditional and modern style and has all the facilities you need for a great stay. No off road parking, but we knew this and street parking was fine for us. I would recommend turning the baby gate round on top floor so it’s a bit easier to get round . The location is great too, a few minutes from town and the beach. Would highly recommend for large family or group of friends.

Perfect if you want to be in the centre of things
Clarendon is a lovely property - large, airy and clearly recently fully refurbished. It was very clean on arrival and, apart from toilet rolls and a cheese grater, I don’t think we missed anything! We couldn’t access online TV while we were there. We were told it was an error with the provider TalkTalk, and we did miss it with 3 teens, but hopefully it will be fixed for further occupants. It wasn’t easy to park on the road the house was on, and a house with 5 bedrooms is likely to need more than one space but we mainly stayed in Sheringham, or caught the train, so once we got a spot we left the car in it. The train station is very close and the service to Cromer and Norwich is excellent. I would definitely recommend this property to families/groups wanting to be within walking distance of everything in Sheringham.

Home from home.
There was not much more we could have asked from The Clarendon. A comfortable house with plenty of room for 6 adults, 3 children and two dogs. Ideally situated just behind Sheringham’s main street and within easy walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants and the railways. Although street parking is very limited at the house, the nearby station car park can be used 24 hours a day and was £28 for the whole week. We hardly used the cars other than to visit West Runton beach, which is dog friendly and has plenty of parking. Everything we needed was provided in the house and a couple of bottles of wine were a welcome gift on arrival! Three bath/shower rooms meant we could all get ready in a short space of time with adequate hot water for all. Be warned, though, that the top floor does indeed mean using steep, shallow stairs with low sloping ceilings at the top, so best left for the less creaky youngsters. We had a lovely week and would certainly look to book here again next time we come to Norfolk.

Lovely lovely stay. The house is really spacious, lovely set up of the bedrooms, ample bathrooms and great for 2 families to stay for a holiday. Stones throw away from the high street and short walk to the beach. The house was well equipped and we didnt feel like we needed anything else.
