I had a very comfortable stay & was given a free room upgrade. The service was excellent. I had an evening meal at the Inn, which was tasty, well-cooked & reasonably priced. Overall, a positive experience & great value for money. I would happily stay again.
Lovely old coaching inn. Room comfortable, a little tired in places but clean, was suitable for a base to visit the surrounding area. Geoff seems to be everywhere ( he's a workhorse and a lovely host)
The place is run down- closed in fact- we had the owner turn up to let us in. THen he left the building....we were only ones in the whole place. ". Owner suggested he might open the bar later for food. Even the signage outside suggested this place hadnt been properly run as a hospitality place for a while. We didnt stay - paid the bill anyway and travelled on our way. Poor - pictures are decieving!
Although, primarily by nature of the building, some of the interior is in need of udating. That said it is clean and comfortable. The landlord Jeff (or Geoff) is lovely, friendly, and a good conversation maker.
The food is good and served with a friendly smile, by a lovely lady or Jeff himself.
A warm, cosy log burning fire in the dining area too adds to the ambience.
The hotel is within easy reach of the Bath & West Showground, ideal if ypur exhibiting there. This is my second visit and I will be back again next year.
I liked that we were greeted by a lovely friendly landlord, who even remembered my relative from her last visit a year before, which was a nice touch. The rooms and en-suites are basic and small, but are clean and comfortable. There is a limited food menu, however everything we had was very tasty. We only saw one other member of staff during our 2 night stay and she was a lovely lady, super friendly and very helpful. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
This is a great old fashioned pub with rooms and the cost reflects these values. The pub is ideally placed for visiting the Bath and West Showground and adjoining delightful Somerset towns of Wincanton, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Wells and Street (Clarkes Village) to name but a few. The Landlord and staff are very inviting and helpful. Breakfast and evening meal (if chosen) are well cooked and presented and include local produce. A little gem alongside the A371. Thoroughly recommended and a return visit planned for next year.
Quite good value.
Needs a bit more love and attention. Small TV, Small hard towels. No mirror in bedroom. Some black mould in bathroom. Broken blind in bathroom. Lack of pressure and temperature from shower. Owners pleasant. Breakfast nothing to write home about

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
It was very close to the bath and west showground which was all we required
We did have difficulty contacting the hotel due to the phones not working. But otherwise we did have a lovely friendly welcome, dinner was excellent and rooms really comfortable with everything you need. Plenty of parking for both car and stock trailer.
Stayed for one night in double room with en-suite with breakfast.
Lovely pub some parts 500 years old. Been sympathetically updated in keeping with building clean and tidy. Wonderful ,friendly staff went out of their way to make stay comfortable. Dinner was very good I had salmon new pots and salad enough for two! Room and bed comfortable I could only find one plug so the kettle had to go on the floor to be used for tea but that may be me not finding another one. Bathroom small but adequate .Breakfast again plenty of food and they kindly filled my flask for my day ahead. Definitely recommend.
