Welcome to The Orchard Lane View Home Retreat. If you're looking to unwind, look no further. This home offers 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms on three levels totaling 2150 sq.ft. with lovely water views (of the Hammersley Inlet), from every room. The house sleeps eight comfortably, (6 adults max.), two queen beds, and two bunk beds (two twin beds each). Two large decks for outdoor enjoyment, one covered with a water view and comfortable seating. Watch the boats steam up and down the Hammersley Inlet. The home is situated on a huge lot with ample parking.
High speed internet fills any entertainment or communication needs. Three televisions are set up with fire TV, for your streaming needs from any of your subscriptions, one in the living room and one in each of the adult bedrooms. Two bunk beds are set up for the kids for their own sleeping adventure! No adults on upper bunks please.
The main level has a spacious living room with a huge picture window with a view of the water and access to two decks, one in front and one in the back. Comfortable furniture set up to take in the view, and a 56 inch TV set up for your viewing pleasure.
The fully equipped,spacious kitchen is beautiful and modern. You can appreciate the water view while preparing meals. The dining room has a table for 6 that can be lengthened. There is also a full bath on this level as well as a washer/dryer room with ample storage and a coat closet.
The upper floor has a bedroom with a queen bed and your own TV and bathroom. The downstairs has a bedroom with a queen bed and your own TV. The second bedroom downstairs has 2 bunk beds, and the game room has a Ping Pong table!
The Orchard Lane Retreat is located on the North side of the Hammersley Inlet with a southern exposure. The sunrises and sunsets are simply breathtaking! The property, aside from being peaceful, is visited regularly by all sorts of wildlife. Deer wander through regularly. Doves and multiple other species of birds abound and are a joy to watch. You may also see a member of the fox family that lives in the neighborhood.
There is a community swimming pool (during the summer season) and county park for fishing and water access, with a boat ramp ½ a block down the street. There are several other parks in the neighborhood as well. It’s a lovely place to take a stroll through the neighborhood and take in all the views!
Area things to do-
There are 109 freshwater lakes in Mason County for you to pick from if fishing is what excites you, or Saltwater fishing on the Puget Sound. Nearby 220 acre Spencer Lake. This lake is perhaps the most popular trout water in Mason County. In addition to trout, Spencer Lake has excellent bass and perch fishing.
Try your luck at the Little Creek Casino (31 min. drive), or enjoy Kneeland Park in downtown Shelton (20 min drive) with its gigantic playground, grassy areas and beautiful picnic shelter. Maybe you would like to experience a little americana and catch a flick at Skyline drive-in movie theater (20 min drive), or take in the Caboose Visitor Center in downtown Shelton.
Theler Wetlands Nature Preserve (in Belfair, 34 min. drive) consists of more than 3 miles of accessible walking trails within 139 acres of protected salt marsh and estuary wetlands.Watch for red-winged blackbirds, kingfishers, herons, Canada geese and other waterfowl. Walk to a series of boardwalks that lead to a junction at 1.25 miles, where a viewing platform overlooks the Union River. (no dogs allowed)
You might enjoy seeing the Dalby Water Wheel (in Union, 30 min. drive). An iconic water wheel that provided electricity to several cabins in the thirties, on the way to visit Staircase Rapids, (62 min. drive) a beautiful little hike inside the Olympic National Park. On the way, drive through Hoodsport, (several interesting stops there), and past scenic Lake Cushman.
Bremerton and Keyport are fairly close, you might like to experience the United States Navel Undersea Museum. (free). If gardens are your thing, you may want to drive to the beautiful Bloedel Reserve, (1hr 10 mins. on Bainbridge Island).
