25 family members from 1 month old to 63. Great house in a quiet area. Lots of room for all of us. The ONLY thing I didn't realize was the upstairs and downstairs were not connected inside. Stairs are outside. I'm sure I didn’t read all of the description, but this ended up being a great idea. One floor was always full of activity and the other floor was a quiet escape. It was ideal.

Liked: Check-in
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Overpriced and misleading
Upon arrival we were quickly disappointed in the overall accommodations. AC wasnt working correctly, shower faucets needed immediate repair, one dryer didnt work. Dock was much further than we were thinking and much of the walk was a grassy hillside and now easily accesible. Dishes in the house were dirty from not being used in a while, pool was filthy, and deck wasnt cleaned. The deck was unsafe for walking in many places which was a huge concern with many children on the trip.
All had a great time. Beds for all! Entertainment for all! Kitchen, bathrooms, laundry all on working order! And Karen available to call. So super visit!!!
We really enjoyed the trip and there was plenty of room for us to spread out! Having the 3 separate entry sections was awesome!! A couple of things that could have been better....one of the upstairs cabin a/c's did not keep up during the day but luckily was fine at night when it was time to sleep. Also, there was a lot of bat guano on the back patios. It was cool seeing them fly in and out of an evening/morning but someone should clean up the poo in between guests. Oh, and make sure not to leave doors open because they will fly inside which makes for exciting times!!

Decent Stay but terrible communication
We had a few people drop out from the trip due to a family member dying. Emailed about it and got zero response back. Showed up and one of the upper units smelled of cat pee. Fortunately, we could house everyone in the rest of the house. When they sent the check-in information a phone number was given if we had any issues. They couldn't refund till permission from someone else. Took 3 or 4 days to give a partial refund. Location was great and we all slept well. Everything worked out, so I am a happy customer.
We had a great time in Shell Knob and enjoyed the property. It's a little off the beaten path, but there's plenty to do. Our kids enjoyed the big yard with play equipment, and especially the shared pool! I enjoyed some morning and evening runs along roads without too much traffic. One complaint was that I requested a floor plan, but the owner had none to give--just the pictures and a description of what rooms were on what floors. Thus, when we arrived, we were surprised that the house was broken into three apartments (one on the bottom, two on top). It made it a little difficult to break up family units and would have been nice to know ahead of time. All in all, it's roomy, and a great place to stay!
Great property with a rustic deco. We enjoyed our stay very much. We looked for a property where the groom's parents and sister's family, plus our daughter (the bride), us (her parents) and our son's family could stay and have a very small wedding. We chose a corner of the swimming pool with our own canopy and trellis. Everything went like it was planned. We stayed a week in King's River South Lodge and we had plenty of room to spread out with 23 people. The main floor has five bedrooms and four full bathrooms with a large picnic table, fireplace and large living room. There are two apartments side-by-side on the second level that share a deck at the back. Each apartment has a kitchen and a small living room with fireplace, two bedrooms and two full bathrooms and a twin bed in the loft. With that said, it is a huge cabin. I must give sincere appreciation and five stars to Karen Hopkins for her prompt reply to any problems we encountered and she had a maintenance person show up within 15 to 30 minutes through the week and a little longer when rentals are busier on weekends but still not a bad wait. With 30 properties to manage/maintain and the constant use and abuse of the properties by renters, I was very impressed with their prompt response to any problems or questions we had. Cudos to the cleaning crew too. We heard that they faced a major problem when our neighbors checked out the day before us and basically trashed the place so we wanted to show appreciation to them too, as they tried to get the property presentable and sterilized for the next group that afternoon.
At this property we were surprised to find there were three condos in the Large House. It really worked out great with our family of 23 people all being 15 years or older. we did have some problems—a water heater not working but that was taken care of promptly. the property maintenance man was always around, pleasant n very helpful. we had a super time, fun pool, good fire pit, many outdoor games. Rented boats and jet skiies at Kings—good experience. Had one evening meal catered by Kristi Stults—awesome!! Just a real good experience
