Savor the gorgeous wooded landscapes of Shaver Lake at this home, an inviting mountain view retreat with an expansive back deck, shuffleboard, and a wonderful location for skiing, boating, hiking, and more!

This alpine home sits among the evergreens in Ockenden, a quiet neighborhood one mile south of the village of Shaver Lake. Take out your kayaks and canoes on Shaver Lake two miles north, spend sunny summer days hiking around Huntington Lake 17 miles north, and pass the sparkling winter months on the bowls and trails of China Peak Mountain Resort 20 miles northeast.

Musick Falls is located just below the cabin and is within walking distance. Guests can enjoy the sounds of Musick Falls while sitting on the deck. During winter months, there's a great sledding area that starts in front of the cabin and ends up behind the cabin.

Whether you're a family of skiers or a group of good friends seeking summer adventure, you'll love coming home to the warm, lofty living space. Grab a toasty pair of socks from the private washer/dryer, take a seat on one of the plush sofas, and choose something fun to watch on the smart TV.

Read the sports section at the breakfast bar each morning, and fire up the stainless steel gas range to prepare meals as a family. Linger around the dining room table with your loved ones, log onto the free WiFi to make plans for the day ahead, and hop in the car to spend the morning out on Shaver Lake. Back at the house, you can soak in the sunshine on the large back deck, sip cocktails as the sun illuminates the hills, and head inside for a tournament on the private shuffleboard table.

Ski, hike, and swim to your heart's content - discover some of California's most beautiful scenery at this Shaver Lake home!

Comfortable and Roomy
Nice place but just a bit tired. Great location just south of town near a creek and waterfall...The accommodations fit our family well but the place could really use some refreshing. Although the kitchen was decently stocked, most of the utensils, especially the knives, were fairly worn out and old. (Great coffee mugs though!) All the beds were good but there weren't extra blankets around, or at least any we could find. Worked out okay because the house stays warm. The small prep sink's disposal doesn't work, and the lights in the master bedroom that are on the ceiling are bad. (so is the one at the front door) The TV in the living room had some problems too. It froze up from time to time then either restarted on its own, or we'd shut it down and restart it. We loved the sofas and the big dining room table! All-in-all a convenient, nice place that just needs some TLC and those extra touches...the powdered soap and other bathroom items provided were not a hit...no one liked them...but that jetted tub in the master...that's a keeper. Great after a day on skis!

Awesome time!
We booked this place with some friends. We had an awesome time! There was plenty of room for the kids to play inside and outside! Outside was beautiful we got to explore with the kids ages 3-6. They had tons of board games for both kids and adults. Again there was so much room! We had a 1 year old and we should have brought baby gates cause he was just going up and down the stairs. But overall a great stay we plan to go again when the snow hits.

Last Minute Amazing
We had to do a last minute change from Three Rivers to Shaver Lake and it was an amazing trip. The house has a beautiful view and even with smoke and drought the Musick Falls still had some water to listen too. Great cabin and well furnished for our stay.

Great Location, Beautiful Home, a Little Bit Dirty
The location of this property is exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, unbelievable view of the valley, very close to the lake and town. Because of these things, any issues we had were not really a big deal. The house has an open layout. Lots of beds to sleep in and lots of places to hangout. Very large kitchen with plenty (actually too much) of cooking utensils and pots and pans. The view is amazing and has wonderful sunsets. It’s right on the burn scar, which I personally like, but you will get ash on your shoes if you decide to explore at all. If you don’t mind that and the smoke smell (again, I really like it), than it’s not a problem. Here are the issues: -a little bit dirty inside -some clutter in the kitchen cabinets - pool table needs some work (cues broken, table is old) -broken furniture Ultimately, it’s a big, beautiful house in the mountains. It’s fine if it’s a bit dirty. Not really noticeably either. Just in the details. But it’s well worth the price. We will look for this house again when we come back to Shaver.

Good Cabin
Well stocked and great location! We had a lot of fun playing in the snow. Excellent slopes for sledding. My only concern was the floors/carpets were not vacuumed. There were a lot of pet hair on the furniture, floors, and carpets. The hair transferred to our clothes and even our food! The house didn’t have a vacuum so we couldn’t vacuum them ourselves.

The property is very nice. Plenty of room for all of us. Things that need attention, skillets under stove are past usable. Upstairs shower and sink drain very slow. Mattress downstairs not very comfy. Overall a great experience. Would come back again.

Great Spacious House Close to the lake, Property Management mehhhhh
The Cabin is situated in a great location and is extremely spacious and comfortably set up to accommodate a large group. We were two families with several small children and a few other family members. The house is decently well equipped with kitchen items, towels, TV/entertainment (amazon prime, hulu, etc - as long as you have your own logins) and overall it worked really well for our needs! The one gripe was the communication (or lack thereof) from the property management. There wasn't a real "instructions or Binder" with info - like who to turn on the whole ceiling fan or how far away the lake was...not really a biggie but would have been nice to have. I also emailed a few times (with various people) and called to follow up prior to our trip to ensure that some of the former complaints about items not working (dryer door, toilet, etc) were fixed. I never really got a final answer from anyone....just more of a "we've opened a ticket and i'm following up". Lastly, the house does not have AC but a decent whole house fan, and there were many fans set up (thanks!)....but on our last night (out of 4 nights) at 9:30 PM we heard someone outside our door saying something...which was kind of alarming. Turns out it was someone from the property management bringing us fans....on the last day....at 9:30 PM. Thanks but no thanks? Positives definitely outweighed the awkward negatives....Shaver Lake is great!

NO AIR CONDITIONING - NEEDS UPDATING -
Upon arrival it was a warm June afternoon, A/C was needed- house was stuffy. One of our requirements of renting in the summer months is to have A/C - this is advertised but DOES NOT have A/C - Only heater. Is on a very quiet street and the neighbors are all very friendly. Parking in driveway is tricky but doable for 2 cars/SUV and lots of street parking if you have a boat etc. Propane was out for gas grill and pool table cues were all broken (VACASA did bring propane & new cues 2 hours later). Trash was left onsite from previous guests and floors were dirty (housekeeper fail). Upstairs shower - only hot water. Dryer door broken (door won't stay closed) and Washer does not go into rinse cycle. Refrigerator did not cool down to our liking the whole stay. Spiders everywhere, hair in Master bathtub - had to clean before use. Had to wash all pans in kitchen due to being dirty. Toilet flush handle on main floor bathroom broken and carpet throughout house very dirty and stained. Couldn't figure out why TV in living room wouldn't work and found that the extension cord the TV, DVD and cable box was melted at the prongs. I have contacted Vacasa and still waiting on management to contact me back. Property needs updated and some work. Other then that - Shaver is beautiful and the lake is very nice.
