Seahorse Cottage is a cheerful, light-filled, immaculately clean cottage that you will love to call your home away from home. Ideally located in downtown Seward: 1 block from the bay and waterfront playground, 1/2 block from library, 1.5 blocks from post office, and 3 blocks from the Alaska SeaLife Center. Fantastic views of Resurrection Bay. Watch the sun come up over Mt. Alice while you enjoy your cup of coffee from the back deck, and catch the sun's last rays from the living room couch.
Well equipped, cozy cottage. We have everything you need to feel right at home, whether it's for one night or a couple of weeks. 2 bedrooms- queen bed in one, and twin bunk beds in the other. The living room couch is a high-quality futon. Sleeps six. Fully stocked kitchen with a large fridge and freezer for fish you catch. Front-loading washer and dryer. On-demand hot water (a wonderful thing!). More books than you'd be able to read in a year. Smart TV with DVD player. Wifi. Board games and puzzles. Linens and extras. Basic toiletries. Hairdryer. Patio furniture, fire pit, even raspberries available to pick in August. If you have small children, let us know in advance, and we will stock the second bedroom with some toys for them. If you have any special requests during your stay, let us know, and we will do our best to fill them!

We love to meet our guests, but also know that some prefer their privacy. We have electronic locks on our doors, so no need to pick up a key. Access codes will be provided 2 weeks prior to your stay. If you have time during your stay, join us at the Sea Bean cafe (225 4th Ave) for a complimentary wine and social hour nightly from 5-6 p.m. (summer season only; mid-May through mid-Sept)
Quiet residential neighborhood ideally located 1 block from waterfront, and 2 blocks from downtown district.
You could live here and not need a car at all- we are two blocks from downtown shops and restaurants, half a mile from the harbor, and about a mile from Safeway, the local grocery store. Public shuttle transport is available for those coming in on the train (and motorcoaches)- the closest stop is 1 block away. Let us know if you need help with your luggage! Access the waterfront bike path 1 block from us. Mt. Marathon hiking trails are also just a couple of blocks away.
CHECK-IN. We operate on a self check-in basis. The code for the door will be emailed to you 14 days prior to your arrival, and again at 3 days before you check-in. If you are traveling, and will not have access to your email, please let us know when you make your reservation, so we can arrange an alternate way to send you the code. Check-in time is after 4:00 p.m. on the Check-In Day. Please call in advance to arrange a specific check-in time if needed. Reasonable check-in requests can be accommodated, depending on circumstances.
CHECK-OUT. Check-out must be complete and the premises vacated by 11:00 a.m. on Check-Out Day to allow time to prepare for the next scheduled guests.
PETS. Pets are not permitted in any part of the rental property – inside or out. This applies to live animals of any kind, even if you intend to keep them in their cages/boxes or outside. Sauerdough Lodging is represented as a pet free rental inside and out, and we cannot make exceptions for fish, reptiles, dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, mice, or any living things other than Guests.
SMOKING. ALL types of smoking and vaping are not permitted on the Property inside or out. Violation is grounds for immediate termination and eviction with no refunds of Rent or Tax. Should we find evidence of smoking in your room, you will be charged a $200 cleaning fee at checkout.
BREAKAGE. Please let us know if anything in the unit is broken or damaged when you arrive, or if any breakage/damage occurs during your stay. We appreciate your honesty, and will do our best to remedy the situation.
FURNISHINGS. Our rental is fully furnished. You will have everything you need to sleep, eat and be comfortable while you stay with us. We have an active inventory of what is available that is reconciled at each check-out. We ask that you please do not remove anything from the house. If we discover, after inventory, that items are missing, we will contact you and you may potentially be liable for replacement charges.
CLEAN-UP. Please wash your dishes before you check out- thank you!
