Yes, some parts of Bali are overrun with tourists and rubbish. However, we’ve been here for a couple of weeks now and we’ve seen many beach clean ups being organized, plus single-use plastic is restricted, so yay to this Bali!

Whenever I hear people complaining because Bali is too touristy, I would like to remind them that it’s a pretty big island, and visiting ‘Western hotspots’ is not compulsory! You can always find places with not many other people around, and in some cases you don’t even need to travel far. This is Seseh Beach, less than 15 minutes away from Canggu by scooter!

"Absolutely disgusting place. Unhygienic and unsafe for a child/ any family. It instantly smelt of rats and it was clear the apartment had not been cleaned. Multiple dead animals were found, including cockroaches in the shower. The utensil cupboard, which smelt horrendous, was clear that rats were living in there as multiple rat droppings would appear daily. Excellent Hotel

"This hotel was excellent. I honestly cannot find a single fault. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I had to take my son to hospital and all the staff at the concierge desk were amazing and supported me. The staff who took laundry and restocked the mini bar and took the luggage down were absolutely fantastic and wonderful. The staff in the clinic were amazing and they really helped us l. Mey the nurse was brilliant and the GP who came to see my son was great. A brilliant and caring and really friendly hotel I will be coming again soon. The food here is unbelievable, best food at an all inclusive hotel that I have been to. All the staff go out of their way to help you. Please can you give the staff a payrise as they are ALL amazing and helpful."
