"I booked through Orbitz and they had pictures of nice bathrooms and rooms, but the room we got was dark, super basic and the bathroom was tiny. My wife refused to stay there. Luckily they were able to upgrade us to a better room for $US160 for 2 nights to a very nice room. Still the shower was a mess, couldn’t figure out how to make it the right temp, had a weird setup. "My experience was one of the best I've had in Brazil. The owners (Mica & Luciano) are amazing! They are so welcoming and if you happen to be lucky and Mica's dad is in town, don't miss out on Pizza Night! "Owners are there to personally ensure that our needs and requests were met. Owners and staff are highly personable and a joy to be around. Other guests seemed pleasant. The beach is incredible, and there is more to this city than meets the eye. For instance, some neighborhoods feature a vibrant night life. But its easy to avoid entirely if that's not your thing. Next time we will visit the waterfalls and some of the other area attractions."

"We booked the Amora Hotel just a few days before our stay. The room was spacious and clean for our family of four we only wish we had an ocean view but unfortunately all those rooms were booked due to our late booking. The pool is heated. The staff was great. Breakfast was included and was one of the best we've had in Brazil. The ocean water in front of the hotel is more for surfing than for swimming.
