They opened for only a week so yet to reflected everywhere but I had no problems finding Lux Guesthouse. Located on the 5F, you'll want to bear in mind the stairs. However, check-in was smooth, the staff were very friendly and multi-lingual with a family-style run approach to Lux guesthouse.
For the price, the sleeping arrangements were great. I stayed in the 6 bed dormitory which had modern beds, plenty of storage and a large modern cabinet to stow away clothes on the hangers and relatively large backpacks and smaller items.
The beds were comfortable and you get a full-on blanket which is soft and comfortable like back home. The rooms are well-heated with heated floors in the social area too.
The two showers are pressurised well, though if used at the same time temperature and pressure drops so bear this in mind. Overall, it was comfortable with shampoo and toothpaste provided.
The self-service kitchen has a fridge, stove, microwave and hot water machine for all you need. Internet is important for me and I'm happy to say it has very fast wifi so I could work from the lounge with ease.
As I stayed over Christmas, we had a small ji-mek party which was great and found it felt like home including the people. I definitely recommend the place for comforts.
It's mid-way between Hongik university station exit 8 and Sinchon exit 8. The quieter side but near all the restaurants and shops of Hongdae so was perfect.
