GREAT LOCATION IN GOLDEN CIRCLE - TOTAL PRIVACY - PRIVATE JACUZZI

Our cottage is very well equipped in the midst of all the attractions of the Golden Circle and only 55 min. drive from Reykjavik. The cottage is on a private ground with total privacy. Floor heating. 2 nice bedroom. Spacious well equipped kitchen with dish washer. The living room has a 55" Smart TV, Playstation, Free WiFi and Shield (TV streaming, movies and series). On the terrace is a lovely jacuzzi hot tub with massage, great place to enjoy the northern lights!

The location is just great. Kerid, the famous volcanic crater is 5 min. drive. Reykjavik is 55 min. drive. Gullfoss and Geysir are in approx. 30 min. drive from our cottage, Laugarvatn with great spa and sauna (Fontana) is 15 min. drive. The national park, Thingvellir is 30 min. drive. The town of Selfoss is 15 min. drive, where you can find great supermarkets and restaurants. Seljalandsfoss is 50 min. drives and Reynisfjara Vik Myrdal is approx. 1 hr and 45 min. drive. Jokulsarlon is 4 hrs. drive.

Very clean and great location
We stayed for 4 nights last week and loved it especially seeing the northern lights from the hot tub on our first night. Thor was extremely helpful when we had a couple of questions and sent his son round to help us with the tumble dryer. Very nice people and we will be back soon

Great Location!! Comfy & cozy, thoughtfully decorated and great open window to landscape!
The house is a great location if you are looking for adventure by day and cozy/comfy by night. We loved being close to the 1 so we could head out toward the south for waterfalls and glaciers. We did the glacier walk and then enjoyed the falls on our way back to the house. It is also very close drives to Geysir, Gulfoss and Phillanger National Park! We really enjoyed being close to Selfoss for some nice restaurant options. Head about 30 minutes outside Selfoss to Fjorubordid Restaurant for a great dinner on the water. If you need ANYTHING at all the Prastalundur has you covered with a cute little market. Highly recommend this location! Enjoy your vacation in 🇮🇸

Great location
Overall loved it. However when we got there, there were no instructions on the home. We couldn't connect to the internet to research places bc his daughter took the router. This made our first night not so pleasant. Instead of exploring we had to wait for him to come out to property get everything organized and then go from there. Took away from the first day experience. Otherwise great. Instructions with home would be a plus for out of country visitors.

Heerlijk huis
Toen wij boekten hadden we niet precies door dat dit huis middenin de gouden cirkel ligt, maar toch op een heerlijk rustige locatie. Alles is super goed in orde schoon, heel compleet, ook wat keuken spullen betreft. En niet te vergeten de gigantische hottub, voor ons de eerste keer maar dat is dus echt heerlijk. Fijne sfeer in het huis, kortom absoluut een aanrader.

An Incredible Place
We could not have asked for a better place to call our “home base” during our Iceland adventure! Thor was wonderful with his advice and speedy responses to questions from the get go. He was so kind and thoughtful. We loved his great directions with pictures to help us find the place, too. The house was spotless and well stocked with much of what we would need (including games in the cabinet for the one stormy day we had). The beds were comfortable and the views were lovely! It was perfectly located for us to venture out to lots of things throughout the south, southeast, and on the Golden Circle. It was easy for us to head back to Reykjavik to catch a tour from there, too. While we loved all the peace and quiet (and the relaxing in hot tub after days full of hiking), it was close enough to stores for stocking up on groceries when needed. I truly can’t say enough nice things about the volcano cabin! We will definitely be back one day! Thank you, Thor and Sigren for sharing your lovely home with us!

Lovely cottage, very well-equipped
We loved our stay at the Lava Cottage! Appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and extra amenities (both inside and outside!) at this cabin. Private and comfortable accommodation nestled in a quiet little group of cabins. Great location, convenient to Selfoss and all the sights in the Golden Circle. Highly recommend.

A lovely cottage with amazing views
We stayed at the Volcano cottage for 4 nights during our recent trip to Iceland and loved it. The cottage is spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen, a hot tub, and beautiful views of the volcanic scenery. It is very conveniently located for sightseeing. recreation, and shopping. The hosts clearly explained how to get to the cottage and responded quickly to all our inquiries before and during the stay. We had a wonderful time!

Lovely house
Very clean, well entertained house in a quiet and peaceful surrounding. Only a powerline in front is a little disturbing. But the beauty of the house, the jaccuzi, the good setting for many excursions and the friendly owners compensate for that.

The location is convenient to many destinations, the hot tub is a welcome bonus, the amenities were well received - kitchen, washer/dryer, deck to enjoy the sunset. The property alone for its quiet ambience and beautiful views make me want to come back to Iceland! No question this is a five-star property. Beautiful tranquil stay away from the city in Iceland
Our family of three, husband, wife and adult daughter had been looking forward to our holiday in Iceland for many months, we wanted to visit the popular natural tourist attractions in the south-west of the country and made the decision, albeit with some anxiety, to stay well away from the city of Reykjavik and to opt for somewhere more remote. The owner of volcano cottage provided us with some good tips in advance of our trip and gave excellent comprensive directions to the fairly remote location - this helped us greatly as setting off in hire car into the great unknown - in a county like Iceland with its variable roads and wild landscapes can be quite daunting.The cottage itself was fabulous, extremely well provided, comfortable and in excellent condition. We quickly felt at home. The destinations which we visited; Westman Islands; Geyser; Gulfoss; Seljandfoss; Hveragerdi and it’s hot spring trail, Pingvellir and also Reykjavík were all comfortable driving distance from the cottage and did not disappoint. Despite this list of attractions we still had plenty of time of chilling out. If you are looking for a very comfortable opportunity to stay in a fairly remote location with magnificent views of open Icelandic countryside but still be within easy driving distance of world class natural attractions, Volcano cottage is a very good choice.

Beautiful Cottage
My family and I visited Iceland for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed this cottage. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware so we could have many family meals at home. We loved winding down in the hot tub after sightseeing and hiking all day. The living room and beds rooms were cozy and the view to the mountains were beautiful. The owners definitely take pride in hospitality and were amazing with answering any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this cottage to anyone who is seeking a clean and beautiful cottage.

This place is amazing!
We loved Iceland! It’s the most beautiful place in the world! This home is so cozy, clean and well stocked! The best thing are the windows that give you an amazing view all day! The jacuzzi was so big and very well maintained. It was nice to get in after hiking all day. It was so nice to stay out of the city. It was the perfect location to be able to visit everything. We will definitely be back!

Once again 100% Iceland Feeling
This was the second time in the house. We enjoyed it once again really much. Every thing was clean and lovely. The welcome was great because of the great soccer game of Iceland vs Argentina. Here in the house we feel like coming home - short travel to all the great nature spectacles. Short way to Eyrabakki Beach and Selfoss. Sitting in the hot water an enjoying outside the scenic is one of the top events every day. Thanks for this great place on earth
