"I took my mom to Austria, close to where the Romy Schneider Sissi movies were filmed. Hintersee was perfectly located, literally at the end of the road! It is perfect for people wanting to experience Austria in all its glory. And who love to immerse themselves in the local community. "The property was fantastic. Clean, centrally located, but without the noise from the street. The property owner, Nicolle, was super nice and attentive without being intrusive. She even had two slices of apple cake and fresh eggs from her family’s property in our refrigerator when we arrived. "Well equipped apartment on the top floor of a hotel, where the staff had differing views to the owner as to the facilities that were available as a non-guest. Lounge area was compact, shower was over the bath with restricted shower-head adjustment. Comfortable bed, we appreciated the air-con in the bedroom. Ideally located in the centre of Mondsee and within earshot of the Basilica’s bells! Good value for money when compared to the equivalent hotel room."

One of the Best hikingtrails in Bavaria passes right by the house, and Berchtesgaden is only a ten minute drive away. "First class boutique style hotel. Excellent amenities, great shower, bed, noise isolation. My only cons is that there is no place for large suitcase, except from on the floor under TV screen.
