"Booked this cheap 2 night stay to be near Alton Towers. Its a 20 minute drive from Alton Towers but that was perfect for us. The room was clean although very warm at night due to no aircon but we did have a fan in there. We were facing the front of the hotel so no road traffic noise however did get slightly disturbed a couple of times on the first morning at 7/7.30 from people going through the front door . The staff are all so friendly at the hotel and the pub. We sat in the garden for a few hours having drinks on the first evening and then had dinner in the pub . We then had breakfast at the pub on the first morning. Lovely food all round, and very decent prices. Definitely a good place to stay as a base for places like Alton Towers or the monkey forest nearby."

"Anything you read about the property being a bit dated... It is indeed true. But honestly, the place is perfectly fine! The beds were comfy, the place is clean, the staff are absolutely lovely. If I paid more I would expect more, but the price is good value I think! Especially given the small spa facilities. "

"Staff very friendly, courteous, pleasant and professional. Comfortable room and bed, shower very good. Excellent dining options, well prepared, well served, reasonably priced and very tasty. Quiet surroundings, easy access. Door to bathroom impossible to close: out of alignment. Toilet seat needs securing properly. No chain on bath plug making it awkward to remove plug and empty water out after use. These can easily be remedied. Overall impression: - Very impressed. Will definitely stay again.
