Lovely Stay in Sciacca
I stayed at Solemare with my 75yr old mother and twins just under 1yr old to visit for Carnival. The apartment is on the fourth floor with a lovely view of the sea and city and there is a lift. Piero & Damiana were very communicative throughout our stay. Only one room was made up however that was quickly resolved when brought to their attention. They provided a crib and two high chairs which were so helpful when travelling with twins! In the apartment the hallway lights are motion sensored which was somewhat challenging when needing to move a baby between rooms during the night.
The other troublesome bit, but easy to navigate, is that you can only run two appliances at once (ex the oven and a heater) or else you blow a fuse. That said, there are instructions as to how to fix the breaker which were easy to follow.
The twins are just learning to walk so everything is a push toy and we had a complaint from the neighbours below us about the noise the chairs made when they were pushed across the floors (we tried hard to limit!). Piero was quick to problem solve (putting felt on the bottom of chairs and high chairs) and was very apologetic, reassuring us that it was not something to worry about. The apartment is lovely with two renovated bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware.
Sciacca is a lovely town and carnival is certainly an event to experience. Solemare was a lovely place to rest our heads at night.
