The Space:
1 Coastguard Cottages has been recently refurbished and features homely interiors throughout.
LIVING ROOM AND DINING AREA
The property boasts a cosy and welcoming living room with two comfy sofas, an armchair and a flat screen TV, an ideal space to unwind after a busy day of exploring. Sharing the space is a dining area consisting of a wooden table with four comfortable dining chairs.
KITCHEN
Ultra modern and sophisticated, the kitchen features light wooden cabinets. Perfect for preparing meals for you and your loved ones, the kitchen has everything you could need to make the most of your self-catering stay.
BEDROOM
Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find the master bedroom and the family bathroom. The bedroom benefits from a king size bed, along with a sea view. The bathroom is home to a bathtub with handheld shower, separate walk in shower, WC and wash basin.
The second bedroom, located on the second floor, is a twin room featuring two single beds. Both rooms at 1 Coastguard Cottages boast premium bed linens and plush bedding, the perfect combination for a great night’s sleep.
BACKYARD
The outside space at 1 Coastguard Cottages is a small patio area which is a real sun trap in the Summer afternoons.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to 1 Coastguard Cottages are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
A parking scratch card is provided, allowing for free on-street parking nearby on a first come, first served basis. An on-site parking bay is available for the purposes of loading and unloading.
A starter pack of logs will be provided, however any additional logs for the fireplace will need to be purchased by guests. We strongly advise children are supervised at all times when the log burner is in use.
The Neighborhood:
Packed with seaside charm, you’ll find plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes to discover as well as arcades and ice cream parlours in Scarborough.
There are a number of beaches for you to choose from. The popular South Bay is a sun trap and close to the hustle and bustle of the town centre. North Bay has been accredited with Blue Flag status meaning it’s one of the best beaches in Europe! Cayton Bay is the quietest of the three and boasts a sweeping bay with a rural feel. Lastly Cornelian Bay is the remotest and hardest to get to but it’s a hidden gem and often empty.
Ideal for all weathers, there are lots of indoor attractions in Scarborough for the whole family. Head to Sea Life Sanctuary to see seals, penguins, sharks, turtles and more or Scarborough Castle to explore its 3000 year history. If it’s outdoor fun you’re looking for, The Open Air Theatre is a gentle 20 minute walk from the apartment where you can see amazing bands, singers and comedians. There is also the Sky Trail Adventure and Peasholm Park nearby.
Getting Around:
1 Coastguard Cottages is within walking distance of all that Scarborough has to offer and within 45 minutes’ drive time of Whitby and Bridlington.
Scarborough Train Station is a short 20 minute walk away and has routes to Bridlington, York, Hull and Sheffield.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Scarborough. Hop on the 12 route and you can visit neighbouring seaside spots of Filey and Bridlington. The X93 travels through to Middlesbrough with drop offs in Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby.
