Great property if you rent all three, hot tub is a huge plus.
We stayed here in early December for my partner's birthday. The main reasons for booking Red House Barns were the location (not too far from Aldeburgh and Southwold) and the hot tubs, and we were not disappointed on either of these fronts. Christmas is a great time to go as you have the Christmas shop on site and a small stall that sells coffees, bacon rolls, etc. which was really useful. The property is set on a Christmas tree farm which makes a great backdrop. Overall we really enjoyed the stay. Some minor points of feedback:
1. We did not really use the games room as it was very cold and we could not work out how to get the heating on. I'm sure we could have contacted the owners and found out how but we decided not to as the room was quite basic in terms of decor, etc.
2. It would be great to have some basics provided in the kitchen such as oil, salt, pepper, etc, as we had to buy all of this from the supermarket (Tesco and Waitrose are only a 5 minute drive away).
3. There was a fly killer in the kitchen that was absolutely full of dead bugs, which was a bit off putting but not a big issue.
4. Some of the decor felt a little dated and not overly 'homely'.
5. It would be handy to have a table outside that you can put drinks on etc. whilst you are using the hot tubs.
The above are only very minor issues and all in all we had a great stay and I would recommend the property for the hot tubs alone, but also the location, particularly near Christmas. All three hot tubs worked as they should and were very clean and a good size, great to use in the winter when it's cold outside. It's a great property for a group of you when you rent all three cottages. If you were only in one then you may feel a bit overlooked by the others.
