We stayed at Karen's home for three nights in mid-April and while the weather was too cold to sit outside and enjoy the patio and dock, we still found it to be calming and gorgeous just sitting in the living room and watching the water view. The house is clean, the kitchen is fully stocked, the beds are comfortable, and Karen had left towels and treats for our dog, which made us feel very welcome. The house is a short driving distance from Naragansett Bay, Newport, Jamestown and from some lovely restaurants, beaches, and walking trails. We hope to be back again.

Beautiful home

Well appointed home, well stocked kitchen, outdoor space is beautiful. Kayaking was so much fun. Location is wonderful. We visited Newport, did the cliff walk and had a delicious breakfast at belles, all dog friendly. Looking forward to returning. Karen is a wonderful host!

This gorgeous home was immaculate with peaceful views and surroundings. There was plenty of room to spread out and SO well equipped! We made ourselves right at home and felt safe in the area and comfortable in the home. Absolutely beautiful spot to call home for a few days!

Another fantastic stay!

We first stayed here in summer 2022 and this summer returned for a 3 week stay. It was even better this time! Beautiful landscaping improvements made it an even more attractive location. This home is so well equipped and comfortable. Whether looking out at the water from inside or from a seat on the dock, the views are mesmerizing. It’s a great place to kayak and soak up the sun, and it is close to everything! The property owner is wonderful and responsive. We will definitely return for a third visit in the future!

Simply Sublime

A fantastic stay from the initial Vrbo request to check-out from the property. The property owner, Karen, was wonderful to work with when answering questions about mobility features as well as when we had an lockout situation. Special thanks to her property manager, Jenn, who helped us gain access! The property is as advertised, situated on the Pettaquamscutt River which is beautiful to arise to and view the sunset. Overall, the property is well-maintained, stocked fir every need, and in proximity to Newport, Jamestown & plenty of restaurants. While the loft is a bit difficult to walk (I’m 5’9”), we enjoyed the house & riverfront views.

Beautiful River View

This home is beautiful and exceptional and its appointments. There are so many different seating areas that you would be hard-pressed not to find your comfy spot. The beds were soft and comfortable. If you’re looking for a firmer mattress, this would not it. We visited with family and enjoyed our day trips to Newport Block Island and local restaurants. We would definitely rent this property again. We also had the pleasure of watching the URI rowing teams practice practice on the river. It was fun!

Comfortable, Clean with Great View

One of the best properties I have stayed at during my son’s 4 years at URI. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Karen is a great host. She’s quick to respond to any inquiries and went out of her way to make sure our stay was great. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds are comfortable. Living room is spacious and has great view of the river. Backyard had 5 Adirondack chairs and patio furnitures was there for plenty of seating and great view of the water. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Do not hesitate to stay at Karen’s property.

Riverside Paradise!

Everything about this property is a delight. It is like visiting a friend, or being in your own home, as opposed to (even very nice) rentals. There is not even the slightest hint of the usual sterile, builder-grade construction and appointment. The expanse of windows set the stage for the stunning river vistas in this lovely welcoming space furnished with comfort and casual elegance. As you think of something that you need, all you have to do is open a drawer, a closet, a pantry, and there it is. The owner shares fascinating stories and fantastic recommendations and even the neighbors are friendly. There are multiple kayaks for renters to use, and spending time kayaking up and down the river is truly sublime. We cannot wait to return!

The kitchen layout was adequate. All of the utensils, pots, pans, cabinets and drawers needed a thorough deep cleaning, as did the appliances. Teflon coated pans were all deeply scratched from previous use of metal utensils and should be replaced for safety. Front door was swollen and difficult to close and lock, same issues to open when returning. A keyless lock would be a better option. Sliding door to patio was missing locking hardware and we had to use the provided broom handle instead. Window hardware was awkward to use (crank handles would be a simple upgrade) and were broken and unusable (i.e. above kitchen sink) in some locations. Closet bifold doors all needed adjusting as they were usually off track. Main bathroom (upstairs) had sink and shower drain clogging (starting with first usage) and took forever to drain and left a mess behind to clean before the next use. Would expect this to be a checklist item between rentals. Location and views were excellent and as expected. However, the house was suffering throughout from not having a long term tenant or owner/manager staying long enough at the house to identify general maintenance items and address them before the next guests arrived.

Karen was a delight to work with and answered any question immediately. Her home was beautiful and very comfortable. The view from the living room was spectacular, serene, and just perfect.
