Cozy Home - Near Hunter & Windham

1800s country post and beam home. It is located less than 5 min from shopping and the thruway. Conveniently in the village of Saugerties. This very well maintained rustic home has so much to offer. It's a 200 year old farm house that has all the modern amenities. It's beautiful and quaint at the same time. The house has a nice living room and large dining area right off the eat in kitchen. Outside is fire pit to hang out and enjoy.
Please be aware that house is in between a cargo train and a highway.

Not Cosy
Not COSY as advertised.Two noisy highways on either side of house plus a huge dumpster and a very loud train close by. Old house with leaning floors and old smells, old bedclothes, old mattresses and old bathrooms. Pretty porch area but way too expensive. If less expensive it would be better. It was clean and hosts were responsive when we couldn’t get in.

The house is cute, an older property with lots of original finishes in excellent condition. The kitchen is large and well-appointed. Beds are comfortable. The yard is very large, mainly trees and grass, also a large parking area. It is close to a busy railway line and we love the sounds of trains passing. The only downside is that the property is also close to Interstate 87. You don't hear the traffic on the interstate in the house but you do when in the yard. Yesenia, the host, was communicative and helpful.

House was clean and owner very responsive. Location is not ideal as it sits next to a junkyard and across the street from train tracks. Freight train came through multiple times in the middle of the night.

Close to Saugerties
Saugerties is a great place to get away with young families. Also town, great short but cool hikes for little kids (~3-4), and good restaurants! This location is great if you want to be out and about. This is a hard house for hanging out, especially while kids are sleeping and there is a lot of ambient noise from the train and the highway. Our kids slept fine but it was hard for us to sleep!

Great House for a Group!
The house inside was AMAZING. Such character and beauty with the natural wood, classic old building style and slanted floors. Plenty of space for a group to spread out and be together or separate. Going in early June, we were not expecting 90+ degree temperatures, so the lack of AC is something we were missing, but can't control the weather! If you are looking for a quiet cabin at night, this is not the house for you. The property is adjacent to the highway and a busy train track. Didn't bother our group, but the house does shake a bit when the train comes by, and the highway noise is very present.

Couples trip
We stayed 4 couples for two nights. House was plenty big so everyone had privacy. Two full bathrooms with 5 bedrooms and eat in kitchen. Huge yard with fire pit and plenty of outdoor chairs. Jessie was very fast with all inquires. Literally two miles off exit and into village. The only negatives (which weren’t a issue for us) was there is CSX railroad across the street and the backyard does back up to I87. We didn’t mind it at all because there really isn’t any neighbors so we played music and were left alone to our dance parties In the future we would keep this house in rotation for more couples weekend

Clean, lots of space
We had a good time in this cute farmhouse. Everything was clean and comfortable. I wish we had known before that the location itself was on the thruway and adjacent to a freight rail way line. The house itself was lovely, but not somewhere I’d want to go to get away and hang out in the yard, unfortunately.
