Perfect Stay in Sarlat
Located in the heart of the historic center of Sarlat, this apartment met all of our needs, and we're so glad we chose it. There was plenty of space to relax after busy days exploring the Dordogne region. The kitchen was well-equipped, including a coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and washing machine. The location was perfect -- so close to restaurants, shops, and the amazing Saturday morning market where we bought all the makings of a complete meal including wine and charcuterie -- all with local products. Emmanuel, the owner, responded quickly to my initial questions and met us upon arrival, providing helpful information about the apartment and the town. An overall wonderful experience!

Great site, needs some attention
This apartment was conveniently located in the heart of the old ‘cité’. It was large, comfortably furnished and because it is in a stone building, remained comfortable during 2 weeks of 95F weather. The bathroom was nicely appointed with bathtub and shower. The apartment had a nice washing machine and dishwasher and modern stovetop and oven. There were some features, however, that left us with a negative impression. There was no welcome gift, no notebook of the operation of various features of the apartment and the neighborhood. Certain aspects were sparse: No kitchen towel, placemats or tablecloth; one small roll of toilet paper, no shopping basket. The apartment is advertised as a two bedroom, but when we arrived only one bed had a sheet (we had to ask for a top sheet), the bed in the second bedroom had no linens. This second bedroom in the photos appears to be the main bedroom, but we found it unusable due to a musty (mildew?) odor. Also, when we arrived the Wi-Fi didn’t work and took three days to get it fixed which led to angry words with the proprietor. The television worked for 15 minutes and then lost signal. In summary, we feel the apartment has potential for a pleasant stay but needs attention to the needs and comfort of its guests and therefore we would not return.

Amazing view, apartment, location and host!
Our group of three (grandmother, mother and daughter) stayed a week in this characterful, spacious, well-decorated, well kitted-out and well-situated apartment. What a privilege to stay in the heart of medieval Sarlat, with an incredible view from every window and be a stone’s throw away from everything. All this was made even better due to the warmth and kindness of Emmanuel, the owner. He met us personally at the apartment ( no impersonal lock box for him), carried our suitcases and showed us around the place, explaining everything. He gave us his contact details before leaving and then said that he would meet us again, the morning of our departure. Emmanuel arrived Saturday morning and promptly helped me, my elderly mother and my child bring our suitcases and other belongings all the way to our car. He also told us the best and easiest way to leave Sarlat, given that it was busy Saturday market day. We so enjoyed our week’s holiday, staying in this beautiful apartment and very much appreciated the genuinely kind and helpful host that Emmanuel is.

Spacious apartment
The apartment was spacious and very well situated and, luckily, a very short walk up a rather steep hill from the cathedral. The beds were comfy, there was plenty of hot water and a good shower. The apartment had lots of character and a great outlook across to the cathedral. Its courtyard location was reasonably quiet, even though it was close to all the action of central Sarlat.

Lovely Stay in Sarlat
The apartment is beautiful and spacious. The kitchen has all of the necessities needed for preparing delicious meals. The apartment location is perfect. We explored the many byways, fetes and parks in Sarlat and were especially enchanted with the cheese cave close by. The Sarlat market held twice a week is around the corner and the source excellent provisions.. Emmanuel was a great help in getting settled and very responsive to any questions. I will return as soon as I can.

Perfect Week in Sarlat
Met and exceeded all of our expectations. Emmanuel was responsive to all of our questions before our stay. He met us when we arrived, helped with luggage and told us where we could park for free during the week. He thoroughly explained what we needed to know about the apartment. It was clean and the kitchen was well set up for cooking in if one wanted. The location couldn't be better - a 3 minute walk from the main tourist street with restaurants, grocery store and shopping. The single flight of stairs to reach the apartment was well worth it! We highly recommend a stay here; you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful place to write
The apartment is lovely. It is clean, bright, spacious, and has all the conveniences of home . This has been especially important during the pandemic that locked down most services here in Sarlat and I have needed to stay indoors and prepare all my meals at home. Despite enforced isolation, my stay has been delightful. Sources for essential supplies have been readily available, I was even able to obtain a prescription ordered from my doctor in New York. Emmanuel could not have been more supportive. He not only picked me up from the train station at my arrival, but provided email updates as to the changes in government regulations . In short, I have been very happy with my stay and look forward to returning in happier times when it is possible to get out and take part in the diverse activities in the region.

Bright apartment great location
Nice large bright apartment in great location for walking all around Sarlat la Caneda. Paid Parking close by, free parking 10 minute walk. Owner helpful and readily contactable. Enjoyed a week here for day trips out or staying locally.

Fantastic apartment in Sarlat centre
We had an amazing stay at this magnificent ornate charming apartment with very welcoming host. The large windows looking out over parts of the Cathedral which when lit up at night are just wonderful. Free parking a few minutes stroll across the park With beautiful Sarlat and its many shops and excellent restaurants on your doorstep Quaint villages and some extraordinary gardens to visit all within 15-20 minutes easy drive.

Perfect property
A fantastic location in the heart of Sarlet. Everything on your doorstep. Ideal for touring around the whole area and lovely to come back to a home from home on an evening. The property is amazing set in a lovely courtyard just steps away from all the restaurants and centre ville. A spacious room kitchen with everything you need for your stay. The bedrooms and bed are fantastic and so peaceful. Emmanuel was great and very informative on meeting us and told us everything we needed to know . I would recommend to stay here for everybody. Characterful property in Sarlat
We rented the apartment for a week. It had everything we needed and it was in a great location, close to all of the restaurants and shops. Our rooms were huge. We loved the charm of it with it’s eclectic style of decoration.

Even better than it looks.
Hard to believe, and I half expected to be let-down when we saw it in person. What the photos do not do justice to is the volume of space and all the windows looking at a fabulous Sarlat. Very nicely appointed, everything you could possibly need, and then a few extra blankets and pillows just in case. Extremely comfortable, and warm, even in the worst part of the winter (which is great because there is no traffic and no tourists. But most restaurants were closed - we managed to pick the off-season and vacation week for businesses but we stayed in and cooked. It was lovely.) Easy to get to (steep streets but you can get close) and parking not a problem. Not a city to visit without a car. The Dordogne Valley is 15m away, and Sarlat is more interesting and larger than the valley towns. (Stayed in Domme last time, much more to do in Sarlat.) Emmanuel sweet, easy to contact, and very nice. Highly recommend.

We loved this place! Light and airy, lots of room to move around in. Great kitchen, comfortable beds. We will always stay here from now on. One small thing, it would be improved with some new, fluffy towels. But overall really fantastic!

Lovely spacious apartment
The apartment is beautiful, light and spacious- it is the largest place we have ever stayed. It is also very comfortable, clean and importantly in Sarlat, very very quiet and peaceful. The bed is comfortable and the shower has great pressure. It’s right next to the cathedral, so the views of it especially at night when it’s lit up, are amazing. This apartment is so light and airy and has everything you would need for a very comfy stay.

This lovely apartment is everything you could want in a beautiful village in the south of France--well decorated, clean, comfortable, lots of space, steps from the old town, romantic evenings with the large windows open and the stars and moon visible. Emmanuel was a most gracious host with ideas for day trips and very responsive to any questions. The apartment has many of the small touches that one often does not think about, but does indeed miss while traveling--Emmanuel has thought of it all! Hoping to go back soon...

Perfect rental in Sarlat!
The location of this 2-bedroom apartment couldn't be better. As the name says, it's right by the Cathedral, which means it's right around the corner from the amazingly helpful tourism office and from cafes, restaurants, bakeries and patisseries. And the twice-weekly market starts at the foot of the street. The recent update of the kitchen and bathroom are well done. The 15-foot ceilings and generous room sizes are wonderful.(The conversion to square feet on the VRBO listing is incorrect--it's about 1000. The owner is looking into getting it corrected) Emmanuel was very welcoming and helpful. We arrived during a cold snap and he quickly arranged a space heater for the back bedroom. The wifi was consistently strong. Thank you so much for a great place to stay in Sarlat. We highly recommend it!

Wonderful apartment in Sarlat
My husband and spent a wonderful week in this historic, yet modernized apartment in the historical center of Sarlat. It was spacious, comfortable and offered all the amenities needed. Internet connection was flawless, water pressure and shower was great and bed very comfortable. It was close to free parking and paid parking even closer. Emmanuel was a welcoming host who offered suggestions for restaurants and local spots of interest. We hope to return to Sarlat and will request this apartment again.
