Not the best location
I stayed in this apartment with my family of 4. The apartment itself was small but ok. Note that the management keeps the remote control for AC and if you need it, they charge a daily fee of 10EUR per day.
The communication with the manager has been very difficult since the beginning. I’ve sent a message a month prior to arrival to confirm there was enough room for the 4 of us. I never got any answers. The day before our arrival, I sent another message that was again unanswered. Even VRBO couldn’t reach out to anyone. I finally was able to talk to the manager the night before. We agreed to meet at the apartment at 4pm. I confirmed our arrival when we landed on the island. When we arrived, there was no one there. We had to wait on the side of the street for another 20 minutes before the manager showed up. We got inside while he did the final check up. He then realized that the toilet was broken. For the first 16 hours, we had to fill up a tank of water to flush the toilet. The next morning, a plumber came to fix the toilet. It wasn’t done properly but we didn’t realize it until we got back from a full-day in Sao Jorge at 1AM. There was 2 inches of water everywhere in the bathroom. We called the manager to let him know, but he didn’t bother to come. My husband spent the night cleaning the bathroom. The toilet was fixed the next morning. Beside all that, the location isn’t great. You absolutely need a car. The closest restaurant is about 1 mile from the apartment.
