"We had a lovely holiday in Alvarenga. Manuel and his family were warm and welcoming and we loved attempting to chat round the pool in French and Spanish! It's a beautiful area with green eucalyptus hills and the Geo park provided some interesting spots to visit. "What a very cool place! If you like interesting lodging and nature, you will love this place. It is a bit off the beaten path however, so you'll require a car. Definitely take them up on the offer to stay for dinner. Dona Natalia's home-cooked meals are absolutely delicious (if my Cajun grandmother was Portuguese, she would be Natalia), and a great deal at 15 euros per person, with wine. "

"Fernado & Amelia were very welcoming and had generously left a welcome gift pack. We were given lots of information about services & things to do in the area. The outdoor living space with bbq & outdoor sink and plenty of charcoal together with the pool greatly enhanced our stay in early July. The only downside was there was no airconditioning (our error not noticing when booking) as in the 1st week temperatures were up to 40 degrees but fans were provided. A lovely peaceful setting."

Aveiro and Porto are an hour away, but you have some very unique tourism opportunities about 10 minutes away in S. João da Madeira with their industry tourism and hat and shoe museum!"

However, the best feature of this property is the outside living space. Pictures really do not do it justice.
