Situated a few kilometres from Santa Venerina, between the Ionian coast and imposing Mount Etna, Linera is an ideal location for exploring the wonders of the eastern coast of Sicily. In the lush garden, characterised by flowering bushes, scented Mediterranean plants and tall trees that create pleasant, shaded areas, terraces alternate with flights of steps and green lawns, creating an atmosphere of pure tranquillity. Once a noble winery in Etna, Linera has been carefully transformed into an elegant, charming residence. The conservative restoration has preserved and enhanced the original elements, such as the terracotta floors, the walls and pillars in lava stone and the ceilings with exposed beams. The different sections of the property have been cleverly connected by corridors and stairways, respecting the historic soul of the building while integrating modern technologies such as energy autonomy, air conditioning in the bedrooms and wi-fi. The interiors, which cover about 900 sq m, are a succession of spacious living rooms and dining rooms. The understated and sophisticated decor combines pieces of modern design with antique family heirlooms and twentieth-century objets d’art, reflecting the owner's taste for vintage and design. The spacious, well-equipped kitchen, with direct access to the garden and outdoor dining area, is perfect for those who love to cook. The bedrooms, distributed between the ground and split-level floors, offer comfort and privacy. Many of the rooms, including the living rooms, open onto large terraces that overlook the manicured gardens and the splendid swimming pool. Guests can enjoy the outdoor living area, relax under the pergola or dine outside thanks to the outdoor kitchen and barbecue, immersed in an environment of great beauty and serenity. Completing the offer is a well-equipped gym with relaxation area, sauna and Turkish bath, making Linera a comfortable and welcoming retreat, so pleasant that it will be difficult to leave it even to explore the wonders of eastern Sicily.
Interior:
The villa is spread over two levels, both with direct access to the outside. From the garden, a few steps lead to the main entrance, which opens into a three-level reception room featuring high ceilings with bleached beams, original Sicilian terracotta floors, and several cozy seating areas, each separated by a few steps. On this floor, there is a twin bedroom with joinable beds and an adjacent bathroom with a shower, a double bedroom with a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, another double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower, a large lounge with a dining table, an additional breakfast room with a fireplace, and a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with direct access to the garden. Accessible from the dining room are the laundry area and the spa area, which includes a well-equipped gym, a sauna, a Turkish bath, and a bathroom with a shower. From the living room, a central staircase descends to the lower level, where there is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a shower and another double bedroom served by a bathroom with a shower and bathtub. Park:
Linera is located in an enchanting Mediterranean fenced-in oasis of 9,000 sq m (the gardens is enclosed by two-meter-high dry stone walls and an entrance gate with wide mesh). The property is characterised by large terracotta terraces, surrounded by flowering plants, cacti and typical Mediterranean trees, which extend between the two sections of the estate, creating different relaxation areas. A charming outdoor dining area, shaded by scented creepers, is accessible from both the kitchen and the adjacent dining room. Manicured paths wind around the property, connecting the main house to the gardens, also accessible from the ground floor bedrooms, the second master bedroom and the living area. In this part of the garden is the swimming pool and a terraced area with two pergolas: one set up for relaxation, the other for outdoor dining. This area is served by a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, with refrigerator, induction hob, sink, dishwasher and a convenient changing room with bathroom and shower. At the entrance to the property, past the automatic gate, is a driveway of about 100 metres that leads to a covered parking area with space for three cars.
Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool is located on a slightly sloping level of the garden, about 50 m from the back of the villa, easily reached in a few steps from the French windows on the ground floor. Surrounded by greenery, the irregularly-shaped pool, lined in PVC, measures 12 x 7 m with the depth ranging from 1.20 to 2.50 m and has a lateral ladder and Roman steps for access to the water. Surrounding the pool is the solarium area of about 60 sq m, equipped with 10 sunbeds for relaxation. Nearby are two pergolas: one furnished with comfortable sofas for relaxing and the other used as a dining area. A few steps away, serving the pool area, is an outdoor kitchen, complete with refrigerator, sink, dishes and dishwasher. There is also a changing room with bathroom and shower, while outside there is a mobile barbecue. The pool, purified with chlorine, can also be used at night thanks to internal and external lighting, and is open all year round. During the summer the pool can be heated by solar panels.
