"This is an excellent place to stay for people on a budget because the rooms are beautiful and I have a super high wood beam ceiling and with air-conditioning and everything was clean and neat and we paid less than $55 a night! Plus it was right near everything and the staff was very helpful and they have common areas we can cook your own meals and it’s very very affordable really great price for what you get! If you are a light sleeper and this might not be the room for you because the traffic from the street makes a lot of noise but that doesn’t bother me because once I’m out I’m out! "

"We had a great stay at Akwa! Alexia and Eduardo were welcoming, kind and responsive. The villa was luxurious, with minimalist design, a full sliding door that transformed the space into shared indoor/outdoor space. The private plunge pool is a game changer! The driveway into the development is very steep, but this is typical of many accommodations in Santa Teresa. You can walk to the beach and back, just prepare yourself for a short but challenging climb back up! "

"We recently spent a week at The Rock House while visiting Costa Rica and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was beautiful and the photos on VRBO accurately reflect it. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. AC units are available in both bedrooms. The kitchen was well-equipped. We really enjoyed the salt-water pool and the outdoor hook and ring game and made good use of both! Wilfredo, the caretaker, lives in a small home on the property and took great care of the pool and grounds and helped us out when we were dealing with some ants in the house.A few things to be aware of in the area: - The road up to the house is STEEP and a 4x4 is highly recommended. It's also great exercise to walk up and down which we did every day!- The town and beach right at the bottom of the hill was not our favourite. It was relatively dusty, probably since that section of road is unpaved, and occasionally smelled of garbage. However, if you travel either north or south at all things were quite nice. There are many nice restaurants to choose from close by. Our favourite beach was Playa Hermosa (about a 15 min drive north).We loved our time in Costa Rica and would happily suggest The Rock House to anyone travelling to the area!
