Appartment was even better then advertises. Fully equiped kitchen with a small and a big fridge (with many pans, coffee cubs and more then 20 plates and 12 wineglasses for example). Supermarked in Villa Verde was less then a 5 minute walk. Also you could have diner in any restaurant after making a reservation. No need to setup an account. Just pay with debit card. Restaurant are not expensive (12€ for a steak).

The apartment was very well appointed and comfortable with a great location within the complex with easy access to supermarkets etc when required Rebecca and Jay were great hosts. Very responsive to any small issues which arose. Overall would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a stress free break in Cape Verde

The information provided by Rebecca was comprehensive, including numerous restaurants in Santa Maria and available amenities on the resort. The location was superb especially if you enjoy walking. There were several different routes into Santa Maria varying from 2 to 4 miles. The apartment was well appointed on the resort,the kitchen was well equiped and the rooms were spacious. A large well equiped terrace was blessed by the late afternoon, early evening sun. A lovely 3 week escape to the sun.

Very nice apartment with all creature comforts available. Notably, the kitchen is truly equipped so that self-catering is a real possibility, a rather rare element in short-term rentals. The owners are super-reactive, both before and during the stay, responding within minutes to all queries. We'd return without any hesitation. The Melia resort where the flat is located provides a good baseload of entertainment and has a prime location on the beach; the pools, paths, common areas, equipments, and various built-up elements however begin to show their age and will require a caring hand to get back to their claimed 5-star status, where they no longer are.

Lovely place

The property is very good and has all that one needs for a comfortable stay. Some minor irritations but nothing serious. Be aware that there are 18 steps up to the apartment. The apartment overlooks the main pool and on occasions the music gets a bit loud. The resort is very nice but in places its looking a bit tired. The processes to manage an account for spending on the resort if self catering, need to be made easier. The staff are excellent and lovely people but burdened by this admin. The WiFi is not good and very unpredictable. Great beach and beach grill. Overall a lovely holiday and we would use again and recommend to friends and family who want sun, sand, sea and great restuarants in Santa Maria.

Katastrophe, niemals wieder! Disaster, never again!

Das grenzt an Betrug und arglistige Täuschung! Schon direkt nach der Buchung im April 2022, hat uns der Vermieter als auch FeWo verschwiegen, dass das Tortuga Resort schon seit fast 3 Jahren geschlossen ist! Wir haben den Vermieter mehrfach angeschrieben, und keinerlei Antwort erhalten, als wir mehrfach mit FeWo Kundenservice telefoniert haben, und Sie informiert haben dass der Vermieter uns nicht antwortet, hat man uns gebeten geduldig zu sein, denn bis Dezember ist ja noch Zeit! Die Anzahlung haben wir sofort geleistet, und die Aufforderung zur Restzahlung kam eine Woche vor dem Termin!, aber immer noch keine Information vom Vermieter! FeWo versicherte uns dass wir vor Ort unser gebuchtes Apartment bekommen, ansonsten gibt es einen sicheren Ersatz! erst 12 Std. vor unserem Flug, als ich dem Vermieter geschrieben habe dass wir Morgen früh nach Sal fliegen, habe ich eine Email mit 30 Seiten Informationen erhalten! In den Infos steht, diese Infos erhalten die Gäste 14 Tage vor der Anreise?!? Aber das schlimmste kam dann vor Ort, in unserem angeblichen Luxusapartment! Das gesamte Apartment und die Terrasse total verschmutzt, da hat seit Wochen niemand mehr gereinigt! Die Matratze im Doppelbett total versaut und voller Flecken (Fotobeweise), in beiden Bädern läuft am Waschbecken das Wasser nur als Rinnsal, und in einem Waschbecken läuft kein warmes Wasser! Von der Decke im Bad tropft heißes Wasser, und Tage später bricht die Decke ein weil der Boiler geplatzt ist, und das ganze Bad überschwemmt hat, ich habe stundenlang mit allen Handtüchern versucht die Überschwemmung des Apartments zu verhindern, bis endlich ein Handwerker kam um das Wasser abzustellen! Danach wurde der Boiler wenigstens ausgetauscht, aber das warme Wasser im Waschbecken lief immer noch nicht! Der Herd/Backofen hat nach dem einschalten immer die Sicherung rausgeworfen, nach 8 Tagen ist auch der endlich ausgetauscht worden! Es gab während unserer gesamten Urlaubsdauer (18 Tage!) kein TV/Radio Empfang, nur sporadisch Internet/WLan Empfang. Auf allen 4 Stühle auf der Terrasse waren die Sitzflächen zerrissen, die Couch im Wohnzimmer hat keine Polsterung mehr, wenn man sich setzen will sitzt man fast auf dem Boden.Die angeblichen neuen Fliegengitter waren zerrissen (Moskitoalarm!) Es gibt in dem Selbstversorger Apartment keine größeren Töpfe zum Kochen?!? (nur ein paar kleine Töpfe und Pfannen!) und nur einen wirklich kleinen Kühlschrank!!! wie sollen denn hier 4 Personen klarkommen?!?

Winter sun

My wife and I travelled to the Melia Tortuga Beach resort on January 21st 2020, returning to the UK on 24th February. The complex consists of a substantial number of villas and apartments, all of which are situated close to the beach, which itself is magnificent. There are a number of excellent restaurants in the resort, where prices are reasonable if you are not in an all-inclusive basis. We chose a self-catering apartment which was excellently equipped. Our balcony overlooked a large communal swimming-pool where entertainment for both children and adults takes place throughout the day, so if you are elderly (70 plus) and are looking for a quiet vacation, this may not be the place for you. However, if you are younger, with children, the resort is first class, as was our accommodation. The coastal town of Santa Maria is some 3 kilometres from the Tortuga resort and a taxi fare from the hotel to the centre of the town is approximately 3 Euros. There are many first class restaurants which are not expensive. If you are self-catering there is a very adequate grocery store nearby. If you are looking for winter sun Tortuga Brach is well worth considering.

Great time at SAL

If you want to have a great time at SAL, we highly recommend this apartment at Tortuga Beach resort. The apartment is perfectly located at the resort with all the facilities you want. Communication with the owner (Rebecca) was really great and helpfull. We had a wonderfull time (2 adults and one chilf of 4). The apartment is located in the middle of the resort with a direct view on the swimming pool. It was our 4th time in SAL and our second time in Tortuga Beach Resort. The resort itself is great as well. We did not use the all-inclusive option at the resort. Instead we used taxis to the city center (5min drive) and had diner / lunch at the nice restaurants. There is also a small supermarkt in 5minutes walking distance which we used to get some basic groceries. Just perfect!

Super Urlaub Tolle Erholung

Schon die Fahrt mit dem Taxi vom Flughafen zum Resort ist ein Erlebniss. Wir haben uns gleich mit dem Taxifahrer verstanden und er erzählte uns bei der Fahrt schon viel über Santa Maria. Das Appartment war sehr schön das einzige ist das es nah am Pool liegt und morgens die Poolboys ( 6.30 Uhr ) das ganze bei lauter Musik sauber machen und diese Musik den ganzen Tag bleibt bis in die Abendstunden. Matratzen sind nicht durch gelegen sondern OK. Schön ist das Fliegengitter so das man die Fenster auch Nachts offen lassen kann. In Santa Maria gibt es einen kleinen Einkaufsmarkt wo wir das nötigste eingekauft haben da wir uns selber versorgt haben. Man konnte zwar auch im Hotel essen was uns aber zu teuer erschien und wir lieber bei den einheimischen gegessen haben. Von Tui haben wir eine Tagesreise mitgemacht bei der Mittagessen dabei war. Es war sehr informativ gemacht und das Essen war Toll. Vorspeise Hauptgericht Nachspeise und 1 Getränk. Würden wir jedem empfehlen das mitzumachen. Abend sind wir auf dem ein Steinweg der am Meer die Hotels verbindet gerne noch entlang gelaufen. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und wenn man sich mit Ihnen unterhält freuen sie sich auch mal etwas über andere Länder zu hören. Das Taxi vom Resort nach Maria kostet 3 Euro . Wir hatten zwar Geld umgetauscht braucht man aber nicht kann mit €uro bezahlen. Alles in einem ein Toller Urlaub !!!!° Viele Grüße an Rebecca und jay

Fantastic accomodation!

This accomodation offers everything one needs on holiday, it's beautifully situated, overviewing the pool, on a 2 min walking distance from the beach, and extensively and tastefully equipped, we can definitely recommend this one. Because it is situated in a high quality resort, you could also use the resort's facilities if you like. The owners, Rebecca and Jay will provide you with any information you need , as well as with tips on what to see, where to go and where best to eat. If you want a relaxing vacation, this apartment provides excellent accomodation!

Lovely apartment over looking swimming pool

Me and my wife enjoyed our winter break in Rebecca's apartment. It was in a great location overlooking swimming pool and a 2 minute stroll through resort to lovely beach, which was pretty quiet in the last week of March. The apartment was comfortable and spacious with plenty of facilities. We didn't eat or drink on the all inclusive resort( although you do have that option ) but went into Santa Maria which is a cheap taxi ride or about a 30-40 minute walk, longer if you take the beach route. There are quite a few restaurants and bars in town with some playing live music which gave the town a nice little vibe. Meals were a challenge as I am Vegan and there isn't a lot of choice. Just make sure you explain the difference between vegan and vegetarian. Restaurant "By Valeria" did have some options and listened to requests. If you fancy a pizza anywhere just say no cheese, very nice vegetarian pizza ( no cheese ) at Palm Beach. Overall nice break and Rebecca always helpful and available with advice when needed. We would return.

Sehr schön !

Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub in der schönen Wohnung mit tollem Balkon . Der Pool ist direkt vor der Tür und wenn man ein großes Hotelresort mag , ist man am perfekten Platz ! Der Service war exzellent und alles ist genau wie beschrieben . Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt . St Maria ist ein süßer Ort mit tollen Restaurants zum frühstücken und Abendessen ( falls man keine Lust auf Hotelküche hat ) . Einzig die relativ laute Musik vom Pool und dem anliegenden Hotels hat uns manchmal gestört . Vielen Dank an Rebecca .... es war wunderbar !

The apartment was beautiful and set out lovely

The apartment has lots of home comforts and the bed was very comfortable. There were two bathrooms which was very handy. Rebecca gave information about places to go which was very good, the complex was lovely and you had the choice to go all inclusive or have breakfast lunch or dinner. We found this very expensive, all inclusive was €106 a day, breakfast was €22, lunch was €38 and dinner was €48. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. Lovely holiday

Very good apartment on melia tortuga

The apartment is very good. IT is 2 min walk to the beach, and next to the swimmingpool. The balcon is Nice to have your breakfast, your drinks. We have no all inclusief because we been there three weeks and do the stopping by ourself. The taxi drivers are very Nice, they drive us to the supermarkt, wait and drive us back super. The weather is very very nice.

Spacious, apartment gets the sun from early am

My husband & I are from Republic of Ireland. We were very fortunate to pick this premium apartment in the Melia Tortuga 5 star Hotel complex. We rented out the apartment for 3 weeks over the Christmas festive season. The apartment has 2 spacious bedrooms. Beds are of a very high quality comfort. Bathrooms, all the cooking & washing facilities of a high standard. The apartment gets the sun from early morning until the sun sets. The main view is off the main pool. Very fortunate to be in a lovely 5 star complex with benefits of sunbeds at the pools & beach. We opened an account with the hotel upon arrival at Rebecca's advise, which worked out well. Rebecca e-mailed us a Hand out regarding everything from arriving at the airport to hotel / apartment. Recommendations re supermarkets, restaurants in Santa Maria & even suggested we could avail of "all Inclusive" which we did towards the end of the holiday. Great sun and only a 6 hour plane journey to a very relaxing Island, Sal.

Wonderful place to stay

The apartment is well place part way between reception and the beach and overlooking the pool. It has everything you want for a great self catering holiday and the bed was comfortable. Being on the first floor gave a great outlook and the balcony was equipped with table, chairs and lounger. We didn't do the AI that is offered at the hotel but took some foods with us and the rest we got a taxi to Cazu supermarket, they waited, and took us back. In the evening we either walked down the beach to a lovely place or took the taxi into Santa Maria where there is plenty of choice of bars, restaurants and cafe's. We will be back! Just to add Rebecca was great to deal with and gave us 'tons' of information which was really useful.

Dream vacation in a special country

The first two weeks of August we have rented the holiday apartment of Rebecca and husband. We really like to return in the future. This will say enough about the property and service Rebecca provides to us. Rebecca was very helpfull and delivered a superb service to us. Thanks for that!!! The apartment and resort are very good. The beautiful beaches are close to the resort. There is enough entertainment in the neighborhood. We suggest to rent a car for 2/3 days to see the highlights. Plan to see the caretta caretta turtles. Or sharkbay. Enough things to do. We give you the advice to buy your breakfast at the local supermarket and take a dinner at the beach. This solves a lot of money. We didn’t like the food and drinks from the resort. The price for all inclusive is very expensive, even if you only want the breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you want to eat quality fish we highly recommend Baracuda (st Maria beach) We highly recommend this place. Its worth the money and experience!!! Thanks Rebecca for all the things we now remember from this special country.

comfortable apartment with brilliant location

We spent a relaxing two weeks at this lovely apartment.it contained everything needed for a comfortable stay. Beaches and sea just wonderful although did struggle for sun beds during second week... not expected at a four star resort. We found a restraurant at villa verde (over the road) which served a full buffet breakfast for 7 euros... very handy if you don't want to eat in the resort. Meals too expensive within the resort but plenty of restaurants in town.we ate mostly at pointe preta which was fab. Would love to return sometime as weather and accommodation was perfect.

Lovely apartment in gorgeous resort

Brilliant apartment in a 5* complex. The apartment (and balcony) overlooks the pool and is only a 5 minute walk to a gorgeous white sandy beach! Rebecca was incredibly helpful before, during and after our stay! We had the intention of cooking meals during our stay but the supermarket in town was a little limited. So we ended up eating out a fair bit. We then decided to upgrade to all inclusive for the last day as a treat - worth it if you want to eat at the hotel. Would recommend: Angela's (on the beach in Santa Maria) - doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food and the fish is incredible - and so cheap! Odjo d'Agua - live music, lovely food and beautiful views over the ocean. AlwaysSailing - day sailing trips - absolutely wonderful experience - amazing! Overall lovely apartment, lovely island!

Well appointed apartment on super resort

This is a lovely apartment which is well fitted out. The south facing balcony overlooking one of the pools in the resort is ideal for sun worshippers in the afternoon. The resort has many facilities with several pools , restaurants and bars. A short taxi ride took us into Santa Maria with its abundance of restaurants and bars all of which we enjoyed. The information provided for the apartment was invaluable. It was extremely comprehensive and offered many suggestions on where to go and what to see. If you wish to have a completely relaxing holiday in the sun then we would recommend you give this apartment a go.
