"We loved that this boutique hotel was a former manor house from the 1500’s in the medieval hilltop town of Briones surrounded by vineyards. It was beautifully restored and renovated to blend the old with the modern The courtyard built against the town wall is charming and relaxing. Some of the historic features include the old wine cellar, now the Calado restaurant. The breakfast buffet was a work of art with a wonderful array of choices including different daily pastries. Dinner at the Allegar Restaurant was excellent with food and wine selection and beautifully prepared. We had a bottle of wine on the upper-level terrace overlooking the vineyards and enjoyed a memorable sunset. "
