Dale Ball Trails: The Dale Ball Trail system is a 22 mile network of trails in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. These trails are popular for hiking and mountain biking and the trail heads are accessible by foot from the home. The trails offer great opportunities for beginners and advanced hikers/bikers alike, along with amazing views of the surrounding. Best new is dogs are allowed. You can make your loop as short or as long as you want: for example Loop 1,2,3 takes me about 1hr 15 min. This trail is very beginner friendly and not very technical.

Ranging from common to rare, approximately 190 species of birds can be found in or over the various ecosystems of this sanctuary. The sanctuary is free to the public and we have a few pairs of binoculars for use at the home to take with you.

The Neighborhood
Looking for that old Santa Fe charm? Welcome to the Historic Eastside neighborhood. Winding, unpaved roads lead to wildflower-filled gardens and classic adobe homes. Locals around here take pride in two things: their dirt roads and tall gardens. Odds are, your neighbor will have the best tomato patch you’ve ever seen, and quite possibly a small rabbit farm.
Walkability is the name of the game here. With proximity to Canyon Road arts district and downtown, you’ll hit that 10,000 daily step goal by midday. Sweet cafes, bookstores and upscale dining are just a stone’s throw away. Window shop over 80 art galleries on our famous Canyon Road. Feel like stretching your legs? Take a quick bike ride to the Plaza! Or grab a pair of binoculars and head over to the nearby Audubon.
