DO NOT STAY HERE. I booked a room for 2 and stayed on 1/1/2025. This room checked the box for everything that you would not expect from a Hilton chain of hotels, more from a 1 star motel. Blood on the sheets, hair in the tub, trash in the waste basket and the room temperature did not move from 72/73 degrees and humid. We checked in late and we discovered these things within 2 hours after check in. I followed Expedia procedures and contacted them through chat and was told that they were in contact with the front desk. My young son was fast asleep from a 300 mile drive at 11pm. So changing rooms was not an option. The front desk told Expedia that they could not afford to refund the nights stay. Expedia customer service was no better and said that this did not qualify for a refund, even though I sent pictures of everything. At 11:45pm a housekeeper knocked on the door all the lights were out in the room and then used her master key and unlocked the door, the only thing that stopped her from entering was the inside safety lock I had locked. We found a bag of bedding in a bag then next morning. This still did not qualify for a refund from the hotel or Expedia. 2 days later the Expedia customer service team reached out and asked if I would contact the hotel manager, send the pictures and explain what had happened. I did just that and copied Expedia, with no response from either Hilton Buffalo Thunder hotel management or Expedia. I would recommend not booking through Expedia.

The property itself is beautiful! The other two bright spots about this resort are the pool and the gym. Hands down the best hotel gym I have been to in a long time. The downsides of this property is it feels pretty run down in places. In the main hallway a door wouldn't shut so it was always very cold walking to the lobby. Our room was pretty rough. We got stuck with a "second" floor room that had a beautiful view of an HVAC unit, my kids couldn't see anything past that. In our room itself, the shower spigot was broken, there was a missing floorboard where you could see unfinished drywall, and the furniture was peeling. With all that being said, we would probably stay here again, it is a nice property close enough to some of the ski resorts.

Buffalo Thunder was Wonderful New Years Eve in 2015 and again on Christmas Vacation in 2024. I know this may not be mentioned enough but Maid Service was Excellent! (And Very Much Appreciated) The only negative was All Front Desk personnel were Non-Smiling and Non-Welcoming at Check In and Check Out. Otherwise, Buffalo Thunder is a Wonderful Resort. Plus, Curtis (Waiter in Red Sage Dining Room) was Most Excellent!! C. Davey Castleberry

Overall a great stay. The only complaint would be the limited dining options at the hotel and lack of adequate staffing at the restaurants and coffee shop.

I really like this resort. Everything you could need. Only problem was the two restaurants were both closed Thurs evening, the ritzy restaurant out of my budget, and deli/fast food I can’t eat. Breakfast the next morning was great!

My low ranking is because of some cleanliness in my room which was obviously a lack of attention and detail by cleaning staff. But it was enough to gross me out and then became a top of mind to me throughout my stay.
