Palace Gem is a thoughtfully and tastefully remodeled 1920’s bungalow in the heart of Santa Fe’s Historic Eastside. An easy walk to Canyon Road and the Plaza. Comfortably sleeps 6 people on two King beds and two twin beds.

The home opens to the light filled open-concept living/dining/kitchen with hardwood floors throughout. The living room is designed for comfortable entertaining or relaxing, and the dining room features access to an outdoor deck which allows for extended outdoor living and entertaining. The immaculate chef’s kitchen is tastefully appointed with high-end finishes and top-of-the-line Jenn-Air appliances. The master suite features a walk-in closet, private outdoor deck access, and a luxurious en-suite bathroom complete with dual sinks, a large soaking tub, and a walk-in shower. The King bed guest bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, and the same level of tasteful finishes found throughout the house. There is also a second guest bedroom that has two twin beds. A sweet reading area with built-in bookshelves is located at the entry to the third outdoor deck space. The home has air-conditioning throughout.

The outdoor spaces are landscaped with fruit trees and honeysuckles. There is off-street parking for three cars. The level of taste and detail in this full renovation was enough to earn the 2016 Heritage Preservation Award.

The home is located conveniently to the Plaza in the center of Santa Fe as well as to all the art galleries on Canyon Road. This is an exquisite home for your vacation in Santa Fe.

Great Location
Great place to stay. Could have used some more hangars tissues and an iron for three ladies, but other than that a nice place to stay.

Beautiful Santa Fe base home
Brought international friends to Santa Fe for 3 nights. Clean, quiet, easy to cook in, awesome bathrooms, comfortable beds, nice bedside reading light. Bring your own coffee and tea as not provided, unfortunately. Living room has gathering space for a group of 5-6. 20 min walk to the plaza for Indian Market . 10 min walk to galleries . Super place to base out of . Plenty of parking. 20 Min walk to the best look out for sunrise or sunset .

Nice house, great location.
The house was just as nice as the pictures made it out to look. It is indeed a short walk to the town square, and the Compound Restaurant. The beds were comfortable, the linens were nice. The host was very responsive with our questions. We really enjoyed our time there!

Our House
We have stayed at Palace Gem many times. We absolutely love it. The layout of the home, the fenced in yard with multiple seating areas, the location to downtown . . everything is perfect. Richard communicates so well and makes the check-in check out procedure a snap. We will be back.

Clean, Comfortable and Close to Everything!
This place was great! 4 friends stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate milestone birthdays and we could not have had more fun. Great restaurants really close (we walked almost everywhere). Great hiking, and the art scene was mind-blowing. Would do (will do) it again!

Wonderful home, wonderful lication
We had a terrific stay at this property over the Christmas holidays. Location could not be better and home was very comfortable. Leslie was a very responsive landlady. One teeny weeny suggestion - it would be good to get a space heater for the master bathroom during the winter. It was very chilly.

Wonderful stay, one of our nicest vacations ever
This gorgeous and beautifully-maintained house had everything for our 3-generation family vacation. We cooked in the well-equipped kitchen, ate dinner on the beautiful outdoor porch, walked the few minutes to central Santa Fe and to Canyon Road for museums, shops, a cold iced tea at the Teahouse, and, after the longer days of excursions and hikes, slept peacefully at night in the quiet bedrooms. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, the owners were kind and available. It was a wonderful place of respite and I hope we can return.

A Delightful Gem Indeed
Stayed for almost 2 weeks at Palace Gem and was incredibly happy with the stay! I had read all the fantastic reviews, but was still surprised when it was all true! Great location; lovely hosts; wonderful interior. Only downside is there is not a lot of room for large cars, and if you have an electric car you need to park in the very front since the electric outlet is on the porch. Overall, a fantastic property and we will be back!!

Wonderful experience
The house is quaint and jade tons of charm. Rooms were far enough apart to give everyone space while the main room was inclusive and open. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was top notch. Richard was extremely responsive from the start. We’re already planning our next trip.

Overall lovely house but could use a few more amenties
This was a truly lovely house in a nice neighborhood. It just could use a few more details: A scuff mat at the front door, a couple of extra blankets, a little more tableware (juice glasses, plates and bowls and silverware) for a group of six, a few more large towels, curtains for the garage bedroom, queen bedroom TV cabinet not good as bedroom bureau.

Santa Fe Heritage Home
We were a group of 4 friends spending a long weekend in Santa Fe. We loved the house. The rooms were really spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood was lovely, but residential. We ended up driving to various locations more than we had anticipated, but it was alright as parking was not a problem. We made use of the well-equipped kitchen for breakfasts and one dinner. We enjoyed the games and puzzles that were available after a day of sightseeing. It was great and we would all recommend the house.

Perfect (Almost)
House is beautiful, comfortable, nicely furnished. Would rate 5 stars but for small details... like no napkins in kitchen, 1/2 roll of paper towels (no extras), no kleenex in master bath, beautiful laundry room but no soap or softener, old mismatched towels in bathrooms. For a luxury house AND A LUXURY PRICE the little details matter. When traveling to a fully furnished house, the first trip out shouldn't be to purchase kleenex and napkins. Also strange that we never heard one word from the owner or the leasing agent while we were there. On the whole a great house and would rent again.

Second Stay and still a Gem!
18 months ago our family spent Christmas in this property. At that time we thought it was amazing. The location, the neighborhood, the features in the home. . . every aspect was perfect. It often is difficult to repeat an experience like that. However, this trip did not disappoint. Richard added a third bedroom and expanded his decks. Every morning we had our coffee outside on the deck off the dining room and ate dinner there one night. In the evening we would read our books or do some work there. We just cannot say enough... In addition, Richard is so gracious and extremely prompt in replying. We simply cannot wait to return.

Exceeded our Expectations!
This was a long anticipated 3 sisters trip. We had very specific needs/desires as to where we would stay. The VRBO description drew us to the Adobe Casitas, specifically Palace Gem, and we were thrilled with the accurate description. From the photos, we determined the home was uncluttered, absent of owner's personal items....it was. The house was clean; kitchen was well stocked, without a lot of opened, undated food items; the refrigerator, pots and pans, dishes, glassware, counters, cabinets were clean and plentiful; beds and pillows were comfortable; house was warm, which was essential as we arrived in a mid-April snowfall; plenty of towels in the bathroom.....home and yard were perfect for our 5 day visit. The location is within walking distance to everything in town, and there are good walks in all directions for those who walk just for exercise and exploration. We rented a car because we wanted to leave town a few times, once to see Georgia O'Keefe's home about an hour away and once for a spa day only 20 minutes out of town. Recommend both side trips plus one more which we saved for a future visit....the Taos Pueblos. Sooo many museums to see; the Saturday farmer's market is a must see; and the many restaurants and shops are all delicious and great. It is notable to point out how very friendly every one is AND how safe we felt. This is a sincere recommendation for this management company Adobe Casitas and for Palace Gem. After such a successful visit in this house, I could not imagine staying elsewhere!

Perfect for Us
An intensive search of Santa Fe listings a couple of months before our trip turned up only this property to suit our particular needs: two adult couples and an independent fifth person with easy accessibility to downtown and the plaza. What could be better than three bedrooms with good isolation, three patios (one with a gas grill, two excellent bathrooms, a kitchen with first-rate appliances, and very good laundry facilities? Santa Fe's Governor's Palace and the Indian Market are just over a half mile right down PALACE Avenue. With a large 7-passenger SUV, the entrance and driveway were intimidating, but East Palace Avenue is a surprisingly quiet street, and turning the big vehicle around was merely an exercise in use of a backup camera. Small kitchen appliances, dishes, and cutlery combinations are unique to any rental. Coffee was covered in spades here, with TWO French presses, an espresso unit, and a conventional 12-cup maker. Electric kettle for the tea drinkers. The stove, exhaust system, and refrigerator are high-end Jenn Air. Microwave and toaster (oven) were inscrutable (classic?), but our youngest member kind of figured them out. Any ordinary toaster would be a good addition. Knife, cooking pan, and silverware selection is good. Tableware is dominated by a curious heavy black dish set, apparently somewhat chip-prone. Worked, though. We could have used one or two more conventional cereal bowls. All five of us will look back with affection at our stay at Palace Gem.
