Four nights with reuniting sisters from California and New Jersey (here for a wedding in Napa Valley). The house was perfect and as advertisied. One small issue with a toliet which the landlord resolved in an hour after a quick phone call. Would stay here again in a heart beat!

Geoff and Sue were very helpful and communicative. The house is very comfortable, and it is a short walk to the beach. It is also a short drive to get groceries or to downtown. We loved the quiet of this neighborhood and the access to beach and butterfly garden! A great house for our family of 10.

This house is so comfortable, especially if you have a young family!
The location is perfect. A five minute walk down to Natural Bridges Beach and the views of the ocean are spectacular. There are lots of trails to go look at monarch butterflies. Everything worked perfectly in this house… The hot tub, the fire table, and the barbecue. We will definitely rent this house again!

We loved the ease of checking in and allowing us to arrive an hour early was great. This was a great size space for 8 women in late 70’s. Cons: could be cleaner overall. An earwig was crawling in the downstairs bedroom and nothing felt quite clean in the bathrooms. Partly age was at fault and could use some updates. Upstairs bath tub Fay et leaked constantly so a waste of water. The kitchen sink has a high pitched whine when the water runs so very annoying. Backyard had tons of spider webs on the wooden chairs and no one wanted to sit in them. Would like to say we tried our best to follow all the directions of which there were many. We did think asking us to strip the beds etc was a bit too much since we were also paying a hefty cleaning fee.

Great location but house needs updating
Location is great - so close to the ocean. The house has a nice outside area. But the interior needs some attention, seriously. The knives were so dull they were scary to use. The couch has a huge unappealing stain on it. Furniture, decor, appliances, etc., all just felt very old and in need to replacement.

Beach, bikes, science center - what a great stay!
The house is kept in great condition, and having bikes to ride during the stay was really great. It's a 30 minute ride to the pier/boardwalk, and the science center is close in the other direction. Not to mention the beach being at the end of the street! The owner responds extremely fast to messages and is very helpful. Thanks for letting us stay in your house, Geoff! The only negative things I have to say are that the pots/pans and general cooking equipment is below average from what I've come to expect in other VRBO rentals, and the kitchen knives were extremely dull - next time I'll bring my own.

Easy, breezy
We had fun staying in this house near the beach. It was a bit worn in - the hot tub is older and a bit lopsided. However the house is very clean, the master bed was pretty comfy. Location was on a quiet cul-de-sac. The house had sand toys to use and some old wet suits and boogie boards. In a perfect world, maybe a water dispenser for drinking water in the kitchen would've been great. Also, the lightbulbs are all very cold LED bulbs, which we found extremely odd for a relaxing beach rental. Overall we had a nice time and the communication with the owner or property manager was good.

Nice place to stay for large families
This house is a very nice place for large families. The house has just about everything you would need to entertain and is just a 1/2 block from the beach. We went for our daughters graduation from UCSC and this was a great place for everyone to party, plenty of room for everyone to hang out, eat and drink. The fridge is large and we had lots of room for all the food and drinks. Pro's: 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, stocked kitchen of utensils and appliances, garage full of bikes and beach equipment, jacuzzi, bbq, nice quite neighborhood, close to the main drag in Santa Cruz, plenty of towels, there was even shampoo and soap in all the bathrooms. Full grocery store less than a mile away. Con's: The knives in the kitchen need sharping, and the master bathroom toilet needs to be fixed it does not always flush everything away. Both of these are very minor items and I am very picky about sharp knives. All in all a great place and I totally recommend it.

Lovely tropical/coastal inspired house, perfect for friends' getaway
My group of 9 friends and I (all 30-somethings) stayed here for the weekend, for a Halloween getaway. To celebrate the Holiday, we were playing a tropical-themed murder mystery game, and this house was perfect for that purpose. The house itself is clean, spacious and airy, and very well appointed. Giant kitchen full of plenty of cups, dishes, appliances, and cook-wear for serving large meals. Bedrooms are all nicely decorated, beds all comfy, and bathrooms all well maintained. The master suite was very relaxing, and the downstairs couch is really large and inviting. Outside, it gets even better...beautiful tropical landscaping, lovely and easy to use firepit, and a lot more space overall than it looks. We did not end up using the hottub, but it looked very clean. We also did not use the equipment in the garage, but there's plenty of it. The location is great...easy to get to, and super close to the beach, very pretty and dramatic views a short walk away. Owners and their helper/caretaker were all very nice and helpful....everything is well labeled throughout the house, too (though there a few lights and plugs that appeared not to be working, or we couldn't figure out how to get them working). I would absolutely return here for a small getaway with friends again...my only regret was that we couldn't stay longer and take more advantage of all the amenities of this place, this time. Thanks Geoff and Katie and Sue!
