"There was a Christmas tree and decorations which made the house feel quite festive. The house was very comfortable and warm with plenty of space for the family of 5 adults and a dog. The facilities were a bit mixed - The living room tv was not working but this was sorted quite quickly. The kitchen is great to cook in but could do with another fridge or wine cooler as only a standard under worktop one provided. Not quite enough for lots of food and drinks. "Enjoyed the weekend at Wauchope Cottage. Perfect location to explore the coast and Galloway forest area of SW Scotland. House is super clean and much more room than we expected. The grounds are gorgeous and we loved walking around. It would be nice if there was an opportunity to visit the castle to see the inside. This is a fairly remote property, so be prepared to drive to anything you need. But so quiet and peaceful."

"This is a fantastic cottage in an adorable village. It has rolling hills, a burn and lots of sheep! The cottage itself was quite large and was fit for our family of 6, including adult children and their spouses. It was clean, decorated well and rather comfortable. There are amenities within walking distance such as a pub, museum, etc. We wished we had stayed longer and we'll definitely return!"
