The buses for temples and shrines as well as tours to the lake and waterfalls were very close by. The onsen was AMAZING and tattoo friendly! The breakfast was plentiful and hearty. I am vegan and my daughter is not. We were both satisfied. The view from the hotel of the mountains was SPECTACULAR! I really wish we had reserved more than one night. I will be back for sure. "

"Charming ryokan. Onsen on top floor has separate bathing for men and women, lovely way to begin and end the day. The rooms come with half board, so a very special dinner and breakfast filled with Japanese delicacies. Location is convenient, it’s about a 15 minute walk from the tobu Nikko station but you can take the number 1 bus that leaves you a block or so away. Quite convenient to the attractions. Lovely mountainous view with brook from the window."
