The Neighborhood:
Welcome to The Sandy Shack, our little slice of heaven in Sandy Point, Victoria's Prom Country - South Gippsland. As much as we would like to keep this place a secret. It so hard not to share the natural beauty of the area - untouched beaches, blissful walks and a 60's beachy laidback feel.
Our street is nice and quite and is only a short walk to the beach and walking/bike riding track to Shallow Inlet.
The Life Saving Club, General Store and Mini Golf is also about a 10 min walk. It's a lovely place to ride your bike and there are numerous walks to be had.
Getting Around:
Wilsons Promontory is only half an hour away as are some gorgeous little towns. Fish Creek is a highlight with its iconic pub, cafes and art galleries. Beloved Allison Lester and Celia Rosser are just some of the local artists. Wineries and Gurney's Cidery are also close by. Sandy Point has the most beautiful surf beach (patrolled in Summer) but is also home to Shallow Inlet where you can grab the dingy and go for a quiet fish, stand up paddle board, kayak, or lie on the beach and swim in the calm waters.
Other Things to Note:
Due to the closure of the Gippsland Power Stations, during peak times (i.e. the middle of summer) we are prone to power blackouts. Mobile phone coverage can also be poor, travellers are advised to use Telstra for the best coverage in our area. This is unfortunately completely out of our control.
Each property in Sandy Point is on tank water and septic systems.
