Barn Cottage is located on the Garlic Farm nestled at the foot of Mersley Down in the Arreton Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The property sleeps up to 4 in one double room and one bunk bedded room. There are steps down to the property then it is all on one level with living and ding room and kitchen area leading into the hallway and bedrooms. The is one bathroom with bath and separate shower.

Guests enjoy discounts in our onsite restaurant and farm shop which serves breakfast and lunch every day as well as access to the games room, tennis court, football pitch and open access to all the beautiful surrounding land. Chickens, peacocks and red squirrels roam freely around the farm with highland cattle and horses in the surrounding fields.

The farm is ideally located for exploring the Island, lying at the hub of miles of footpaths and cycle ways for which the Island is famous with beaches no more than 10 minutes away by car.

The cottage is centrally heated and is equipped with TV, DVD player, video player, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.

Lovely cottage & great hosts

A wonderful stay
The barn cottage that we stayed in was clean and comfortable. A very lovely and fresh surrounding with a peacock which always came to our garden made our kids so happy. Melanie was really helpful, she promptly answered our emails and helped with the sudden change of my trip. We are very happy with the stay and will definitely come again.

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful place
It's lovely to stay at the Garlic Farm, all the buildings around the cottage are lovely to look at, and the peacocks add to the atmosphere. It's great to have a small garden to enjoy. The cottage is small but comfortable - the duvets could be a little thicker, but blankets are provided. The kitchen is functional with all you need. It's quiet and peaceful and a great base in the centre of the island. Handy to have the shop and restaurant so close, too.

Brilliant for families
Really can’t be beat for an affordable family stay! Our kids (1 and 3) adored it. The cottage was big enough for us and crawling-baby friendly but we spent most of our time outside! The garden was beautiful and we enjoyed eating out there at the table. We love the Garlic Farm and will be back.

So relaxing, wonderful
Very pleased with everything, location, facilities, cottage and was blessed with the hottest weather. First holiday with my little 2 year old furry friend and she too was very chilled out. We loved our early morning walks around the farm and surrounding areas, everybody was so friendly. Will definitely be back!!

Beautifully clean and quiet
A very pleasant stay. Beautifully clean and very quiet. As ex B&B owners we really appreciated the quality and thoughtful touches. The shop and restaurant nearby are worth visiting, especially if you love garlic! Thoroughly recommend the garlic chutneys. After tasting the complimentary one in the cottage we bought all our friends and family some for Christmas. The surrounding walks are magical.

Second visit!
This was my second visit back to the Garlic Farm and I couldn't wait to arrive. The accommodation offered everything I needed for me and my little furry friend and we had some wonderful walks around the farm every single day. I am now looking at Autumn!!

Super cottage for a family 2 night break
The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed for a comfortable short stay with our children. I had a welcome text to check everything was ok, so nice to know someone was at the end of the phone should we need. Good base location situated on the grounds of The Garlic Farm and the shop, restaurant, cafe and games room all came in handy. Parking was easy too. Short drive from Ryde ferry port and Sandown beach. We also had a lovely meal at the recommended The Pointer Inn pub down the road. Would stay again!

Excellent Farm Stay
We had a lovely stay at Barn Cottage. Excellent location for visiting anywhere on the island. Brilliant up front information about what is going on at the farm and suggestions for things to do. The on site restaurant was excellent. We loved seeing and hearing the peacocks every morning from the cottage. It wasn't the cleanest of places but by no means bad - a few cobwebs and the floor felt like it needed a better clean. Some bits looked like they needed a bit attention/maintenance to keep up appearance but in all this didn't detract from a lovely stay at the farm.

A short break on the Isle of Wight
I responded to an advertising email from The Garlic Farm about autumnal B&B breaks, all my correspondence was easy and handled in a friendly manner. Considering it was a two night stay, breakfast thrown in and ferry all paid for, the price was excellent value for money, it will make me look next year at a longer stay. Barn Cottage was a delightful little property and was the best equipped self catering property we have ever stayed in . All in all one of the best mid week breaks we have ever taken. All the staff at the Garlic Farm shop and restaurant were friendly, courteous and helpful, again another great experience.

So peaceful.

Super location all on one level which we need. Comfy welcoming feel but outside paintwork (door) needed attention - which we did. General cleaning between lettings needs more attention to detail eg cobwebs, sticky table. Having said this we loved our stay and will definitely be back

Great stay
This was our second stay at Barn Cottage and we loved it as much as the first. It’s a beautiful cottage, the owners are very friendly and welcoming and the garlic farm restaurant does the best food around. Couldn’t ask for more, will definitely be back.

An amazing stay
As always we had an amazing time away with the family, great communication with host. Game room was perfect for my stepson and highchair + cot provided for my daughter. Beautiful location peaceful and relaxing. I hope to return soon was reluctant to leave!

Un spot idéal à plus d'un titre
En réservant à Garlic Farm, je pensais avoir trouvé un bon camp de base pour explorer l'île de Wight. J'avais vu juste mais le site est bien plus que ça. Outre son emplacement. Proche de Newport, en pleine campagne et à deux pas de la côte Est, la ferme en elle-même est un lieu à découvrir. La documentation sir place permet de se plonger dans l'histoire de cette entreprise familiale et si vous croisez Colin (le patriarche), il aura tôt fait d'engager la conversation. Les chemins de randonnée, le restaurant qui fait la part belle à l'ail et les cottages aussi confortables que bien équipées... font de Garlic farm une adresse qu'on ne peut que recommander.

Excellent in every way?
We’ve been coming to the Garlic Farm for years, every time we visit the Island. First time staying and obviously the accommodation didn’t disappoint! Stylish, clean, well equipped cottage with breakfast and dinner in the restaurant- heaven
