"I would agree with other reviews but to offer a different perspective, we chose this rental for two reasons, location & access for one of us using a wheelchair. Our experience of trying to book rentals has shown that people advertising rentals are generally scared of confirming accessibility because it is so personal and subjective. Generally, what is needed is photos of thresholds/steps/WCs etc for people to make their own mind up. We "

"Dreadful steep, uneven road to get to property with nowhere to park outside property - the offer was to park in the road at the bottom of hill! However, gite itself was wonderful- clean, tidy & every convenience. However had it been made clear about the steep narrow road & no parking, we would not have chosen this property. Yport still retains its village atmosphere, it has a few nice shops for your supplies and a pebble beach to enjoy. The only disappointment was the small garden which had been neglected and was overgrown, we weeded and tidied it up for our use. We would all return without hesitation."

The owners house was closer than it seems in the photos but she left us to ourselves unless we needed something. The lane to the Le Gibet is narrow but is one way so you don't have to worry about meeting another car going up. Entering the lane going up the hill is fine as its on the right. "My husband and I had a magical ten days in this beautiful barn conversion at the edge of a Normandy forest. It was such a lovely, peaceful place with just the sound of birdsong. We were even visited by deer in the garden. The house is well equipped, elegantly decorated and very comfortable.
