We are new owners of this beautiful 17th century villa. After coming to Puglia two summers ago with our children, we fell in love with the place and decided to buy a home here. We love what this house has to offer and hope you do, too. The secluded villa is reached along its own driveway, through gates which enclose the house in its gardens. It has a pool with a swim up bar and a separate paddling pool. Villa Famiglia is perfect for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy what the region has to offer. We think it's perfect for up to three couples with space for plenty of children.
The villa is reached along its own eucalyptus & pine tree-lined driveway, through two sets of gates, to a 3m high wall which encloses the villa in its own beautiful garden.
The Villa is an ideal retreat for those wishing to get away from it all, but is also very near to the town of San Vito with its many restaurants, bars and entertainment. The nature reserve of Torre Guaceto beach is only 20mins away, Brindisi international airport is 15mins away and the famous white city of Ostuni is only a short drive away as are the many other award winning sandy beaches of Puglia.
This 300 year old stone villa was built by a noble family as their holiday home and has been lovingly restored and renovated. The large kitchen is fully equipped has a large fridge freezer, double oven and five gas hob with steak grill. The Villa has air conditioning/heating units in all bedrooms, a video entry system and a security system.
Inside there are three double bedrooms, one ensuite, a separate lounge with TV and a double sofa bed plus a sitting room with a large alcove houses an extra double bed called the ‘cave bed’ by our little guests.
There is a large family bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and large shower. There is also another lounge which houses a piano, guitars and vintage record player which guests are free to enjoy and play. This leads to a study area which has a desk and sliding doors onto the garden so you can work in the fresh air. Most rooms have high vaulted ceilings and all original stone features have been retained.
An area around the villa of over one and a half acres is enclosed by a 3m high wall to create a Masseria-style property. There are 600 square metres of tiled patio, which is fenced off from the parking/paddock area by dry stone wall, trees & decorative fencing. The walled gardens retain many ancient trees such as Carob, date, crab apples, pomegranate, figs, olives, vines, almonds, nespole, lemons & mandarins and original plants such as aloes, pittosporum, lilies, & other bulbs.
Within the walled garden there is a 15 x 7 m swimming pool with swim up bar & spa/paddling pool. It is illuminated at night and has a safety fence and lockable gates around it. There is a slide into the pool which is two metres deep at that end. Non-slip paved sunbathing area surround the pool and the sunken poolside bar has sink and fridge. There are table & chairs for seating under the covered terraces around the villa. Steps down over the rockery lead to a large lawn and outside covered games area, with table tennis, badmington and boules sets ready to play. From here a vine covered pergola leads to the Italianate garden with fish pond, where one can walk amongst the many flowers and trees.
The Villa is environmentally friendly. There are solar panels to heat the water and photovoltaic panels to supply electricity. Water to the house is supplied by its own artesian well for domestic water and the automatic irrigation system.
Outside there is a separate utility room with washing machine, butler sink and wc. Near the pool there is a solar powered shower. There is also large parking area for you and your guests all within the walled garden.
