This hotel is perfect for us, except for the nightly noise coming from the beach bar, Wayos, almost directly across the road from Hotel Del Rio. The noise starts around 8 PM every night and doesn't end until midnight or after.
We stayed in the Cabana Casita which is a single, hut style room made of natural materials. The room is clean but sparse with a regular sized bed, one night stand table and a couple of built in shelves. It has a mini fridge, and you can ask for a coffee maker if it's not already in the room. The bathroom is small but usable and clean.
The location is great if you don't mind walking a few blocks to the main town center area. Optionally you can rent a golf cart and drive. We prefer to walk the beach towards town. They have a dock with chairs and a limited swimming area close by. Restaurant options are close, just down the beach from the hotel.
I think that most adventurous travelers will find this a great little gem of a hotel and enjoy their stay. The hotel staff are amazing people! On the other hand, if you're more used to 4 star hotels, you may find this place a bit on the too rustic side.
