"Nice place with decent size bedrooms with clean bathroom and a nice pool. The staff is friendly and helped us with all our questions. The place is located walking distance to the plaza and there are plenty restaurants around the area. "

"This was the most unique, beautiful location I have ever stayed at. We were at an upscale resort in Tumbes earlier in the trip, and this far exceeded the service, tranquility, cleanliness, scenery by far. The view looking out at the pool and beyond to the backdrop of the green hills of Moyobamba was absolutely breathtaking. Though we did not partake in the tour that is included for guests, we heard great reviews from other guests who were staying there during our same time. Everything was absolutely top tier at Altavista, we will absolutely be recommending and be back again next year! ( Our family is in Rioja )"

"If you want a quiet and relaxing time, don’t go to this hotel. We stayed there from Saturday to Sunday. An awfully load music started at 9 pm and finished at 4 am. It was so noisy you can hear it like it’s next door, even through the headphones. Impossible to have a good sleep. The hotel doesn’t have WIFI, the rooms don’t have complimentary water and a hairdryer, which you may need after the water activities. Pros: the hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, the food was delicious. Maybe it’s not that load during the week, but I don’t recommend going on the weekend. "
