We wanted to give the highest rating for this hotel but there were a few issues that must be mentioned. The bathroom was our biggest disappointment. It was just tiny and the least resort-like feature. Although very stylish in design, the basin was very narrow with no space for toiletries, and the faucet willingly shoots past the front of bowl if opened fully (and does so rather easily). The other bathroom issue is the step up - I stubbed my toe a couple of times during our stay. One more issue is the hot water in the shower. I am guessing the hot and cold are reversed. If the knob is turned all the way to hot, it never gets hot. Moving back to cold eventually brings plenty of hot water.
The other issues are lack of parking and construction all around.
Now the good. The staff were all friendly and helpful and on duty around the clock. The property is right on the beach and hosts a wonderful Sunday drag brunch. Best of all, we were within walking distance of tons of stuff. It took about an hour to get to the cathedral on old San Juan, and only 15 minutes to La Placita market and our favorite restaurant, Alcapurrias Quemá.
