Our stay in Carolina was wonderful. Esaul was responsive on our arrival, late at night helping us find the house located across the street from the Munoz barber shop late at night. He provided us most of anything that we could have requested in our weeklong stay and was generally in or around the area and could be reached by phone or text in English or Spanish (bi-lingual was a big plus for us).
The apartment that we stayed at was secluded behind the primary residence with its own gated entry, lit corridor between buildings, and stairwell. The apartment itself includes all of the amenities needed for a short-to-longterm stay including a moderately-sized kitchenette with gas stove, a four-top dining table, living room, bathroom and bedroom.
The residence uses shaker-style shutters that are operated via a handle like most homes in Puerto Rico. The main bedroom includes a split AC unit that keeps the bedroom cool during the day and at night. During our stay we found it best to leave the bedroom door closed during the day, as the unit was not strong enough to cool the entire apartment and only the room. During the cooler parts of the evening, it can be used to cool most of the apartment as the AC is not directly contending with the heat of the day. The major parts of the day, the living room and bathroom will get warm but that is to be expected staying in Puerto Rico.
The unit includes the kind of pull-out bed that you would typically find in a hotel that is handy for folks staying with young children or parties having more than two adults. The shower water in the bathroom is heated. The front living room includes internet and a smart tv which can be used for streaming or casting. At most times, we got fast enough speeds for watching videos and YouTube on demand.
The unit is conveniently close to several gas stations, a Chinese restaurant, bars, the Plaza de Carolina (mall), and several shopping areas. Ihop, Walmart, Pueblo, BurgerKing, Taco Bell, and many other places are only a short 15 minute drive away.
The apartment was conveniently located to all of the locations to visit family and local sights: Old San Juan, Pinones, Rio Grande, Arecibo, and Isabella. Thanks to Esaul for a great stay!
