This is an older hotel, the room was clean. The staff were nice but gave us inconsistent information about checkout, which was a real problem. Also, they charge $47 for parking, they call it valet but do not have a lot. So be aware of this.

The hotel was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and glad that it was walking distance from downtown. However the ac was broken and we needed to call the front desk but the phone in our room was not working. So i had to go back downstairs to tell the front desk. Minor inconvenience but would’ve been great if it was just a simple phone call. Also, the entrance to the hotel was hard to find. Wish there was a sign from the street view to tell us where the entrance was. Overall it was a great hotel. Would stay here again.

Our stay was overall good but we did run into a couple issues. Our first room did not have working a/c and after maintenance came to check the unit he suggested we go down and request to be moved. The maintenance worker was super kind and helpful as well as the hotel staff at the front desk. We were moved to a second room but upon checking in we discovered the room was definitely not cleaned prior, we took photos of the sheets and bedding to show the front desk and they’re were very apologetic and moved us to a third room. Our final room was great. Quiet and clean. We are overall really happy to have stayed given the staff was understanding and did everything in their power to correct the mishaps. We are also aware of things like this happening as we are all human so it wasn’t a big deal to us. We were just happy to get to bed after the ordeal and a lose at the Sharks game. We would likely stay again but we’d definitely do a thorough check of our room before unpacking. Also the valet was super nice and suggested a few spots to check out murals in the area. Honestly every staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful, kind and professional. Regardless of the mishaps the staff made it worth the stay overall!

Oldest hotel. Also new and updated at the same time. Great location. 5 minute walk to SAP Arena. Few minutes away from great food spots also. Prime location to what you need to have an amazing stay. Staying here next time I visit San Jose as well. Great job. Thank you!!

Everything was fine when we got our room…went up and a man was in the room sleeping at 3:45pm. Scared my daughter and I to death. I promptly went back downstairs to get a new room and was met with an eye roll and a “hold on”. No apology, no upgrade, just an irritation, stating “I guess we can put you in Room….” This was after a phone call to the manager. We come down to SJ often and stayed here before… this will be the last time!

Rooms were nicely appointed and if you like firm bed mattresses, this is perfect for you. It was like sleeping on a slab of granite. The window coverings were broken so you couldn’t operate them and when the heater went on it caused them to click repeatedly against the wall. The phone wasn’t connected, so we couldn’t call for assistance and it was too late to go downstairs again. These are one off issues and all that said, I would likely try again, the location was great.

We have been going to Hotel De Anza for years. Recently there’s been severe drop in the charm it used to have. The restaurant, La Pastaia was one of our favorites, but that’s now gone and not replaced. The Hedley Club appears to have gone away as well. Valet is hit or miss if it’s available. Basically we are paying the same rates with less amenities! If you like a firm mattress, this is your hotel!

This hotel is in disrepair. Water off for 7 hours due to maintenance the first night; the second night a basement flood woke everyone with a 5am fire alarm and no water for showering. Not how I like to go to business meetings.

Once-proud hotel needs a coat of paint
This once-glorious art deco hotel was once the proud flagship hotel of tiny San Jose. Despite some recent updates, it’s run down and grubby looking inside, and has a tacky entrance policy of a locked entrance door that is opened by a bored valet waiting inside. The hotel bar, a lovely room still decorated with beautiful paintings and an intricate French style ceiling, was closed on a Thursday night after a warm spring day. Why bother staying at the De Anza instead of a lively, clean, newer and more comfortable Westin? Hyatt, get off your lazy butts and get a new coat of paint on this place! And do NOT add another layer of dark, fecal purple to the grim hallways, thank you.

Overall a great stay. It's been a few years since we had an occasion to stay at the hotel, but it's been a part of our relationship since 2003 when we had our engagement celebration dinner at La Pastaia which we miss a lot! The room was spacious and clean, except for a few stains in the carpet that obviously could not be removed... LVF should be the next move! The bed was too hard for my husband, great for me. The toilet paper was 1-ply only, so that was a bummer also. I was disappointed that the Hedley Club had such limited hours and staffing. All of that said, I have reservations there in December for another stay after another show at SAP center.

The hotel website says pet friendly. We called to confirm and spoke to somebody directly at the hotel who confirmed to us that the hotel was indeed pet friendly. We were staying because our house was being fumigated for terminates and we had our dog and our cat with us. Upon arrival and after checking, we were informed by a man who I think was an assistant manager that the hotel did not allow cats. We explained him that we had called and confirmed and were told that the hotel was pet friendly And he told us that when people say pets, they only mean dogs and not cats and we were not allowed to stay putting us in a very precarious position
