Our anniversary trip turned into a nightmare. We booked through Expedia, expecting something beautiful as the pictures and IG profile, but were shocked to find ourselves in a filthy, claustrophobic container room. Creepiness: The room was dusty, the windows were grimy, and the bathroom was so small that even a single person felt cramped. The accordion doors offered zero privacy. Disgusting: The bed, shoved into a tiny corner, was clearly never properly cleaned. The sheets were constantly slipping off, revealing a horrifyingly cheap mattress that groaned with every movement. Unsafe: The only access to the first floor was via a rickety, outdoor staircase – the indoor one looked too dangerous to even attempt. Unhygienic: The coffee mugs were covered in mold and dust. Pathetic: Breakfast consisted of minuscule portions of cold gallo pinto, eggs, and plantains. Avoid this place at all costs. The 9-star reviews are a complete lie. There are far better options nearby. The photos are incredibly misleading.

Quirky setting. We had Unit 6, which was two-story for four people. First floor-all glass with curtains. Second floor appeared to be a converted shipping container. Which was fine and worked out; kind of like a 'tiny house'. We would have opened the windows, but there were no screens, and the smell from the horses next door was overpowering. The interior stairwell is metal (tough on bare feet) steep and not placed in the best location; getting out of the second floor bed could end in disaster if the hatch isn't closed. Otherwise, it was comfortable for our needs, quiet except for some late night voices and dogs barking. Breakfast was included and very good.

Beautiful property overlooking San Jose, close to Poas volcano. Property is a bit primitive...sort of between glamping and a traditional hotel...gets cold at night. Space heaters provided but bring warm pj's and socks. Breakfast was great. If you want a luxury get away, this is not it. If you are looking for something unique, quiet, on a beautiful property and don't mind foregoing some luxury's, this is a great choice....also loved the cows and a donkey next door and a couple of nice dogs wandering the property...saw some wildlife too.

This is a funky style property, which would have been cool had the amenities been working. The first room had the bathroom flooding that it rained down to the bottom floor. Our new room didn’t have enough hot water for the jacuzzi to work and the heater downstairs was broken. The cottage was damp and cold as was the bed. The staff was lovely though and ready to help as best they could. The grounds of the hotel were very nice.

Amé la estadía. Es un sueño la localización de este hotel. Hay áreas que deben tener un mejor mantenimiento pues da la impresión de verse abandonadas. Pero en general el lugar es hermoso, la "tent" hermosa y limpia, el desayuno rico.

This is such a unique property. My family (partner and 2 kids) stayed in the suite and had so much fun. The views are spectacular, my kids loved exploring the property and getting to know the dogs and cats that roam about. Beautiful, relaxing, and fun. Wish we could stay longer.
