Hidden Fees
We had employees stay for a business trip and overall the stay was fine. The complaint we had is that an additional $35/guest was billed for a facilities charge to have access to the gym and that it was mandatory. This should all be handled through hotels.com and there should be no surprise fees at the time of the visit.

Cool boutique hotel in the city
The place is great! Everything about the hotel is all you can expect. I was only there for a day and everyone was very nice and accommodating. The only thing I'd think about is it in an area of San Francisco where there are a few homeless people, but it's also convenient to a lot of things. Parking is $45 a night, so include that if you have a car. Overall, I'd stay again.

This property was clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. Our room was comfortable and fun, with a typewriter, table, and comfy chair. I often think of a hotel as just a place to sleep, but it was really nice to have a comfortable space to hang out for a bit. I was worried it might be a loud area, since our room overlooked 7th Street, but it wasn't a problem. And it was a convenient location for walking to interesting sites and restaurants. Overall, I enjoyed the stay and was surprised by the good value and pleasant atmosphere.

Hidden fees (did not know that I had to pay for internet, they offered then charged me at the end) and no fridge in my room - there were fridges in other rooms. The rating is a good signifier of what you are getting into. Pretty middle of the line, a little underwhelming.

The room was very attractive, clean, and the bed comfy. It had a room safe, clean bathroom and shower. The staff were friendly. The location left much to be desired. Has a huge homeless population in the area so can hear people sketching out throughout the night and all through the day. There is no fridge in the room. And not lot for restaurants in the area. We mostly left the area for outings. Id recommend staying by the fishermans wharf for a cooler and safer vibe.

Neighborhood has a lot of homeless people, but then so does much of San Francisco, even near the big fancy hotels. However, they are not hostile so don't let this distract you from staying here. That said, if urban blight worries you, maybe this isn't a good choice, but you'd be missing out. Great value and there is use of a gym and an heated outdoor pool at their sister hotel literally across the street. An outdoor heated pool in San Francisco that is complimentary for hotel guests. Don't pass up on The Carriage Inn. Minor issues: n my last night there, cigarette smoke came in through the bathroom ceiling vent. It was late so I didn't bother reporting it and just closed bathroom door. No big deal, but not particularly pleasant either. And the lady who works the front desk at nights was either always blaring music, or on her 'phone and simply doesn't acknowledge guests. Odd.

Was decently clean and the decor was nice. The location on the other hand is a bit sketchy at times especially at night. There is a lot of mentally ill homeless people in the area.
