As walk through the front door of this gorgeous Spanish Revival home, you’ll be greeted with a warm and welcoming space combining classic comforts with modern amenities. The living room is an ideal place to relax and unwind with a good book or to enjoy an extensive cable lineup including all premium movie channels, Netflix and a DVR to record your favorite programs. Casa Paloma is also stocked with popular family board games (Taboo, Guesstures, Yahtzee, Pictionary, Sorry and Clue), and a racy & hilarious "adult" game of Cards Against Humanity. For those rare, chilly winter nights, there is a warming fireplace to complete the cozy setting. Our summer guests will appreciate the Central Air Conditioning ! Please Note: we updated the living room furnishings (blue sofa, teal arm chairs) the summer of 2019.

A newly renovated , well-appointed and fully stocked kitchen makes it a breeze to prepare a light snack at the breakfast bar, or to serve a full course holiday meal in the formal dining room set with handcrafted Luna Garcia pottery dinnerware.

The master suite boasts an over-sized walk-in closet, large soaking tub , separate shower, and a California king-size bed (72" W x 84" L). The home is a great choice for families -- the guest bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed (60" W x 80" L) and adjoins the second bathroom. Casa Paloma comfortably sleeps 4 guests between the two bedrooms, a gorgeous Murphy bed with a queen Serta "Perfect Night" plush mattress in the living room can accommodate two additional guests. Please let us know if you require additional furniture for your baby or infant, we can provide a Graco crib, highchair and baby bath-insert for use in the big bathtub. The house also includes an inside laundry room and all of the kitchen, bed & bath amenities and supplies you would expect in your own home.

The jewel of Casa Paloma is the lush courtyard edged with palms and tropical plants that invites you to sit and savor your morning coffee, pause for a glimpse the hummingbirds, or simply enjoy San Diego’s great weather. In the evenings, unwind with a glass of wine outside on the comfortable couch with the lanterns aglow casting a romantic light off the soothing fountain.

The moment you enter the front gate, you’ll feel right at home in this private and serene oasis.

Another great stay at Casa Paloma
This is our second time at the property and we loved it again. The home is very charming and conveniently located. It really feels like the owner has thought through everything a guest might want during their stay. We had our infant and toddler with us this time and the house worked well for our family of 4.

Stayed here with my family (adults and kids) and it was excellent! It had everything we needed and more. The owners are very kind. Place is even larger than it appears. Though this home is in front of the owners home, they make sure to give privacy. We would definitely stay again!

Wonder home base for San Diego
Rented the property for 5 day stay in San Diego as a family of 4 with 2 elementary school age kids. The house was clean and had everything you could want for the stay. Plenty of room for our family and was convenient to all the things we were looking to do. It is located ona quiet cul-de-sac and we looked the outdoor space to enjoy our morning coffee or read our books in the morning.

Quiet hideaway
This lovely home fit us perfectly: Well-equipped kitchen, plenty of comfortable spots to relax, and a beautiful back yard. The location at the end of a cul de sac meant no traffic noise and easy parking. And we were close enough to dine, shop, and enjoy Hillcrest/San Diego when we wanted.

Great San Diego House
We stayed here for 5 nights in May and it was delightful. The property is attractive and comfortable and well furnished. The courtyard in back of the house is a joy, with good seating, wonderful foliage and a lovely fountain that draws hummingbirds and goldfinches. The kitchen is large, well organized and well stocked with cooking utensils. Travel around SD by car was easy from the location and while the cul de sac can get full of parked cars we always found a spot for our rental. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and can heartily recommend it.

Best vacation home that we have ever stayed in!
The home is even better in person, in a great location close to all that San Diego has to offer, very responsive property manager, home was immaculately clean, infant accessories were provided so we didn't have to worry about packing big items, and the host furnished the home with plenty of basic supplies like towels/toilet paper/beach gear/paper towels/shampoo/conditioner/body wash - all were easy to find and labeled. We will definitely make this home our regular vacation spot!

Fantastic house!
Cute house in a great neighborhood. The owners have thought through nearly every detail, so we needed nothing from them. The house is in great condition and the landscaping is very pretty. Parking in the street was pretty easy. The neighborhood was quiet. This was our first positive short term rental stay in awhile so thanks to the hosts!

Amazing week in San Diego!
We had a wonderful stay at Casa Paloma! We stayed for a week and had everything that you would need to feel right at home for a week. They have thought about everything, including leaving the local grocery store discount card which was quite beneficial. The location is great as we weren’t further than 20 mins from any major landmark. It was a very quiet no outlet street with street parking right outside your secured entryway. The private courtyard was quite peaceful! We would absolutely stay here again should we find ourselves back in San Diego!

Cozy Christmas
We loved this cozy home. They went the extra mile by supply poinsettias and other Christmas decor. We met family in San Diego to share a day of Christmas celebrations and this home had everything we needed. Everyone Loved it and made comments about how nice, cozy and clean this home is. Home owners were very helpful and really quite lovely. Thank you! Will come back and stay again for sure.

Casa Paloma is an Oasis!
This charming house was immaculate, and has so much character! Everything needed was provided, and where it should be. The front and back courtyards are wonderful! The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, safe, and convenient to everything, while also being off the beaten path. The beds and other furniture are very comfortable, and though we didn't use the Murphy bed, we checked it out, and it was amazing. So many special touches throughout the house and gardens! The hosts were very accessible and responsive throughout our 6 night visit. Casa Paloma is everything you could ask for in a vacation rental.

Local Stay-cation
My family and I stayed at Casa Paloma for a whole month, and it was an amazing month! We typically live in north county San Diego, and used this as a little family "stay-cation" to enjoy & explore all the sights in Balboa park, downtown, and the waterfront. The location of Casa Paloma is PERFECT for this! Also, Paula and Keith are wonderful hosts who made us feel so welcome. They both gave us privacy but also were available anytime we had a question or needed help. Do yourself a favor and book this fantastic property! :)

Absolute perfection
Casa Paloma is the perfect place to spend a week if you want to enjoy a little bit of all that San Diego offers. To begin, the place is even more beautiful than advertised and the owners are an absolute pleasure to communicate with. Check-in/out instructions were a breeze and when we had some mjnor technical difficulties, the owners came to help within minutes (the issue was not their fault at all). Casa Paloma is exceptionally child friendly, with a full crib, kids books, games, and plenty of soap, trash bags, tissues, etc. The other real highlight is the location - great spot in Mission Hills. Minutes to Little Italy, Balboa Park (Zoo, museums, etc), and downtown. Tons of great restaurants and grocery stores within a couple miles. Depending on your beach of choice, you’re 10 (Mission Beach) - 30 (La Jolla Shores) minutes away. I can’t say enough good things about this property and will absolutely return.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Casa Paloma Home Away from Home
Beautiful home. Such attention to detail. All the amenities of a 5 star hotel plus everything you would need in a home. Centrally located, only 10-15 mins to major attractions, including the beach. Restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Paula goes out of her way to make sure your stay is memorable. Loved the Welcome packet of wines, make your own guacamole (ingredients supplied) and chocolates. Would definitely return. Thank you Paula and Keith.

Casa Paloma
We have stayed in many rental homes and this by far was the most special. I enjoyed my coffee in the courtyard every morning while watching hummingbirds create their nests. The sound of the fountain will lull you to sleep. Paula was very helpful with anything we needed which was pretty much nothing since the house is fully equipped, clean and beyond tidy. The house is on a cup de sac so it’s very quiet. I will absolutely rent here again. Casa Paloma was very good to our family. Thank you Paula!

Beautiful, comfortable home away from home
We totally loved our stay at Casa Paloma. The house is beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and linens, great lighting, lots of storage, a nice living room, and the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever seen in a rental — with everything one could want, from great knives, to a salad spinner, to a milk frother! The house has a small front courtyard and a larger courtyard with a fountain that attracts hummingbirds, pretty plants, and views of the sunrise. It’s located close to the airport yet on a quiet court with no airplane noise. Hillcrest neighborhood has cafes, restaurants, shopping, and Balboa Park all within walking distance, as well as easy access to downtown and points north. Paula was a wonderful host, easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We plan to return!

Gorgeous home in an ideal neighborhood!
The home is absolutely stunning, both inside and out; as gorgeous as they are, the listing pictures couldn’t possibly do the property justice. The home’s interior is well-appointed, beautifully designed and decorated, and comfortable; the exterior is a dream—especially the large courtyard, where we enjoyed several meals. The location is ideal, with easy access to shopping, dining, Balboa Park, Coronado Island, La Jolla, and other attractions. Despite being convenient to everything the San Diego area has to offer, the neighborhood is peaceful and very safe. The only consistent noise was that of planes flying overhead, which our family really enjoyed (especially the kids). The owner lives nearby and respected our space while also going out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable. We cannot wait to return to Casa Paloma! Thank you for making our vacation such a wonderful experience.

Great place in a great area
We really enjoyed stay at this great home in a great area in SD. Close to everything would be the best way to put it. Walking distance to some great restaurants and bars/grills pizza joints to higher end dinning. Seamed to be about 10 min from everything we wanted to do. The Zoo,SeaWorld, Midway museum just to name a few. Property was clean and welcoming well thought out with everything you may need and clean and in its place. Easy check in and out. Host was very helpful in the little things we did need. Nice folder with all the local information with things to do and place to dine and visit. Everything about the house explained in detail.... Have stayed in a few other VRBOs but non have been so well laid out. The owners/ hosts are doing this one right. Keep up the good work. We will be back for sure.

Gorgeous cottage but weather made it too hot to enjoy
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location and condition of the cottage was excellent. But we chose the hottest and most humid time to be there. Unfortunately the only a/c was in the master bedroom and the rest of the house was too warm to enjoy even with fans. I would love to return to this house, but only when the weather is cooler. Otherwise it was a perfect choice. With a/c this cottage would be all "excellent" reviews. Without a/c it just wasn't comfortable during our week visiting.

Perfection!
I highly recommend Casa Paloma. It’s a beautiful home with more amenities than any vacation rental I have ever rented, which are numerous. You won’t have to purchase any basic items since the house is well stocked with shampoo, napkins, paper towels and even cooking spices! We prepared a Thanksgiving dinner for 8 and the Casa even had a roasting pan for our turkey! This lovely home is centrally located to all that San Diego has to offer, including Balboa Park, Zoo, Little Italy, Seaport Village and the Gaslamp Quarter. Grocery shopping, restaurants and the airport complete its premium location! This is the place to stay if you want to be in the heart of the city within a charming & classic San Diego neighborhood. The owners, Paula and Keith were welcoming not only to us but to our guests as well. There is a lovely garden patio with comfortable seating, a fountain, table for six, and propane heater for a chilly evening. I even decided to miss some of the group’s sightseeing adventures so that I could enjoy more time relaxing “at home”. Don’t hesitate renting this jewel!
