"A gem of a location. Our room looked over the clock tower with the mountains towering in the background. It was picture postcard perfect. Rooms apear to have been newly renovated. It was a very quiet and comfortable location. The village of Chiavenna is beautiful, looking like it has been untouched by time. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer. "

"We arrived at prime check in time but no one at the desk, and it took 10 minutes and ringing the bell multiple times before anyone showed up. The room was very basic, and was on the first floor. It was incredibly hot, and although there was a fan, even with all windows open, it didn’t cool off. The fridge in the room was also putting out exhaust heat, adding to the misery. Being on the first floor, with windows open, we heard ALL of the street noise of which there was much - teens racing cars, pumping loud music and throwing firecrackers, in addition to standard traffic and street noise. The only plus was being able to get to the Gotthard tunnel before traffic backed up during a summer weekend."

"This hotel is one of my favourite ones anywhere. I first stayed there in 2007, then in 2008 and have been keenly awaiting the opportunity to return to see what it is like in 2024 with my wife. We weren't disappointed. The rooms have been nicely updated, the staff are equally welcoming and the hotel, which is situated perfectly at the main junction into the town centre has superb views and retains a tasteful ambience. We will be returning again if at all possible."
