You'll have all the comforts of home in this historic limestone cottage with all the updated amenities. This rock cottage is perfect for relaxing and taking a break from all the stresses of life or after an eventful day visiting SeaWorld, Six Flags, the iconic country music venue Floore’s Country Store or the romantic San Antonio RiverWalk.
Your rustic loft sits next to the main house of this historic property. This little pocket of paradise is nestled right on the outskirts of NW San Antonio and was home to the famous landscape artist Robert Wood back in the 1930's and 40’s.
THE SPACE
This historic rock cottage is a loft style with an upstairs bedroom furnished with a comfortable King bed, a nostalgic tin roof ceiling and lots of windows. (This is the actual room the famous British landscape painter, Robert Wood, used as his art studio.) Downstairs are an updated kitchen with granite countertops, a renovated bathroom with walk-in shower and an inviting living room with French doors that open to the rock courtyard. This cottage also has high-speed wireless internet access as well as a flat screen Smart TV & cable programming.
GUEST ACCESS
You will have access to a furnished outdoor rock courtyard with a waterfall fountain, or you can just sit around the fire pit during cool evenings. A washer & dryer are located on the premises should guests need to do a single load. You are also free to use our two nostalgic cruiser bicycles to explore the country lanes of Grey Forest.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Perhaps the best feature of our cottages is that they are located in historical Grey Forest not far from the old stagecoach line from Boerne to San Antonio. We are just minutes from SeaWorld and Six Flags and only about 17 miles from the Alamo and the romantic San Antonio Riverwalk.
If you want to stay closer, within walking or biking distance is a very romantic and well known restaurant called the ‘Grey Moss Inn’ ( In addition there are various nature walking paths, a spring fed creek and Madla Natural Area close by. We are only 2.5 miles from Old Town Helotes, which is home to the John T. Floore Country Store where major Country Music acts routinely perform.
