The newly renovated historic cottage stands behind an Alsatian house and well on an acre of Medina River & Mill Creek frontage. A magnificent Shumard oak shades the yard, which features a patio and pool (*unheated and available during warm seasons only*). The cottage abuts the Landmark Inn State Historic Site—boasting 5 publicly accessible* acres of historic buildings, mill and dam. The dam provides still water above or easy kayaking (guests provide their own) below to the nearby 126 acre Regional Park. Located on the "Walking Tour," it is a great location to tour the historic homes of Castroville. The tiny house is furnished with rustic antiques and a handmade quilted queen bed. An additional air mattress is available. A fully functional kitchenette includes cookware, utensils and electric burner cooktops. Seating is available under the porch and on the other side of the yard a swing faces the pool. Cactus gardens and native Texas grasses surround the back of the pool. St. Augustine grass lawn is found by the patio.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but the swimming pool is covered and inaccessible during the fall and winter months due to the large number of leaves.
Hot tub and pool are unheated.
Please know the water levels of Medina River and Mill Creek vary based upon weather and drought conditions. Flow rates may be found at the La Coste flow gage sensors (08180640) posted on USGS online.
